Corrupted Save File.

Just lost everything on GT5. I start up the game and i'm back to level 0.

I checked my saved files and the only one I can't find is the GT5 one - it says "Corrupted Data"...

I think it has something to do with the way I turned off my console, but I do have the 2007 first model so it's pretty old. I was almost anticipating this day to come when it screws me over!

Any ideas or tips on how I can restore it to my last save? I literally just got both the F1 cars and the Carbon X2010.

Pretty gutted as you can imagine!

back it up everyday to a usb flashdrive and make a copy on your pc I learned this the hard way

Yeah well it's a bit late for that :P

Does any of the info get saved on their servers? I guess not :(

Would be great if they could check what I had before I signed out and just fix it all!
 
Get someone to give you a NASCAR, or use the birthday expoit to win a NASCAR and send it to your main account.

Then do the NASCAR seasonal event, and use the money/levels to do more seasonals. Level 24 is reachable in less than 5 hours.
 
Check in the settings on the main menu. I remember seeing something about recovering saved data if it's been corrupted. Not sure whether it relates to save games or the game install though.
 
1st place in the C4 event on a brand new account jumps you straight to level 14.

It's doubtful you will be able to recover anything. If it's corrupt it's corrupt. You could try some form of data recovery but you'd have to take the hard drive out and plug it into your computer.

I'd say, get a friend to send you a C4 and a NASCAR and thank PD for high XP seasonals. You wont get back to the same place straight away but at least you wont have to start back in a Miata at the Sunday Cup again.

Taking out the HDD will automatically format it.

Turns out i'm getting my PS3 slim early now and will be starting again anyway. (Birthday in few days)
 
What happens to your pre-order perks if you loose a save file?

You just need cars that can enter the seaonsal events. There is a NASCAR (any NASCAR) event, Ford GT event (for the premium 06 GT only), and 8 others. Winning them all will certinaly bring you to level 20. You could make millions, but in your case, you may have to spend some buying/tuning cars to compete.

If you can do the special events easily, don't start with the NASCAR seasonal. Instead, gold all of the Jeff Gordon school and win a NASCAR.

I see more and more posts about people's older gen ps3s dying.
 
The NASCAR seasonal will get you 2mill Cr. The C4 seasonal will get you 1.5mill Cr. 3.5mill plus the XP you get is an awesome start to the game.

The only problem is the 1.35mill Cr you need to buy those cars which is why I suggest you find a willing friend to send you the cars. The Cr you get from those events will easily pay for the cars for the other 8 events which will net you even more Cr.

As I said in the PM, focus on the seasonals. I read in another thread that the round 2 of seasonals will be going soon. Can anyone confirm that? If so that round should be your focus. Get it done before a new one comes up.
