I want to first say that i really am enjoying this game but the one thing that is holding the game back from being truly great is that Polyphony continues to get the sound of the muscle cars wrong. I am a big Corvette fan and they all sound like blenders. I just got a Ford GT and it sounds perfect, why is it so hard to use that sound file for all the V8 Corvettes. Yes its a minor detail but when it comes to being the real driving simulator, you cant have a LeMans class winning GT corvette sounding like a blender when it should have a earth shaking thunderous sound.

what the C6R should sound like

A lot of the sounds are off. I drive a 2009 WRX sedan with the SPT dual exhaust and IRL it sounds very similar to the new 2011 Sti sedan. However in the game the only time it sounds reasonably close is from the rear and at low speed(idle/parking lot cruising). The interior lacks any sort of punch and the boxer rumble is all but gone. At WOT the sound is irritatingly high pitched and very blender like. Its pretty disappointing.

Are you guys playing the same game as me? lol Maybe its my surround sound headphones but every car ive driven so far is spot on great sound.

It is weird because a lot of the old muscle cars sound deep and badass along with the Ford GT which was mentioned, but the C6 Corvettes sound week as hell. Oh well.

All of the STI in the game are 2.0 not 2.5

If you look up videos of the 2.0 from Japan you will see the rumble is not as defined on them, despite the 2.0 in north america on the WRX having lots of rumble.

I for sure agree on that some of the sounds aren't perfect but it's not that horrible. The vette's do sound more stock even when fully modded but what are ya gonna do.

The intake, headers, no cats Z06 in my driveway sounds a lot different than cammed/aftermarket exhaust Z06's I've heard and there's no way to get all those for every car in a game. Not to mention every company that makes an aftermarket exhaust gives the car it's own unique sound and there are 1241345 manufacturers. They give it something and call it a day. The game is about the racing not replicating the exact sound of a 1993 honda civic with an aem intake.

They sound rather weak, the ZR1 doesn't rumble at all. With the car upgraded, cams, you would think it be very present. But it's not.

I cant agree with you. Do you have a surround system? The ZR1 has me hooked sounds like the real deal.

The sounds are waaaaaaay off. Youtube a WRX (impreza) and then put it up againsts the game. lol it's not even close. Some are decent like the old 60's corvette that thing is a beast, I was laughing my ass off when i drove that. But yeh i have a silvia s13 and skyline gtr and the sound so so friggen off, not to mention annoyingly like a lawnmower, i'm tempted to change both these cars :( the s13 is nothing like my SR ini real life. I'm sorry to blow the same old trumpet again but FM3 has all 3 of these cars sounds nailed perfectly.

Yer im not happy with the sound of any ls1 powered cars especially the holdens /cry, the pontiac gto version sounds a bit better which is strange as its the same car basically, race modded zr1 very disappointing. Some of the cars sound amazing though I'm playing it through my thumping home theatre with hdmi pioneer vsx 819 and wharfedale xarus 4000 speakers and 2x powered 8" subs, sounds decent overall.

From in car the STi's sound the same and from in car so does the S15 silvia and I have experience driving both. I need to do some testing of the wrx from exterior to see if the authentic boxer sound is there.

JDM wrx sound different from us spec WRX because of the headers.

Um... The S13 sounds fine so does the GTR.

Agreed. The S13 with racing exhaust has some-what of a turbo SR20 sound to it in the mid-range. 👍

edit: and I'm an SR20 nut, so don't try arguing with me cause I'll win.

Not even close ont hi sone. The Observations that the Corvette sounds (especially the C5 Z06) are way off yet again is correct.

I will post up some videos I have made showing sound changes you get when changing exhaust in game - and with the C5 Z06 it goes from almost realistic to downright silly sounding.

In the mean time, just for the resord, this is what a race spec modded LSx V8 with headers and open race exhaust shoul dsound like, not what the game currently provides.

One can only assume that the PD folks have never heard some of the cars they model.

Let me know when Corvettes in a GT franchise game sound like this. ;)

My opinion on the Corvettes (C5 and C6) is that they sound pretty close to correct with stock exhaust. (ZR1 needs to be louder) The semi-racing exhaust on the ZR1 is pretty good up top, but needs some work down low.

On the C6 Z06 with stg 3 motor and race exhaust sounds awful!! Not even close to a V8, more like a rotary. I don't mind if the exhaust doesn't sound great or entirely accurate, but it should at least sound like the number of cylinders it has.

The Mustang GT has this same problem as well; stock muffler sounds fairly accurate, but add an upgraded unit and it sounds like 4-cyl Honda motor.

So I bought a C3 'Vette yesterday, installed pretty much everything. I expected this thing to sound like Cerberus himself - and was really disappointed. I don't even want to drive this car anymore, its so bad. It doesn't even remotely sound like a 350ci V8 with huge sidepipes. Heck, it doesn't sound like any V8, more like a straight six.

They could at least give it a generic V8 sound, this is really a huge letdown for a "premium" car.
