Anyone got any tips for winning the second historic race in Cote D'azur in the 2D Race Car?

The 2J seems to just burn everyone...

Which tyres should I buy?
My 2D has the High RPM Turbo and Rigidity Upgrade...

Any tunes specific for this track?
 
I'd just get a real close gear ratio, you don't need much top speed, it's all about the squirt between corners, gun it on the start, be brutal into turn 1, you should be able to get out of turn 1 in first place then it's pretty easy to keep them behind you if you've learned the layout pretty well. just be controlled in the corners and with the close gearing you should be fine point-to-point :)

I used the Ford GT40 '69 or '79.. can't remember the exact date.. You know, the one that costs like 20 Million Credits.

I beat that race on the very first try.

You get that car @ B-Spec.

I ended up shoving the 2J into the barrier at the chicane after the tunnel. It was the only way, he finished 4th after that lol!
 
I used the Toyota 7 for this, fast but it was a bit of a handful. The B spec cant handle it so im gonna need a better car. One thats more suited to such a tight track. Are any of the other allowed cars easy to get hold of?
 
Man, this track on B-spec is hell. In fact its so hard, its almost like PD needs to patch it. Basically, there are about 3 turns that the AI (including your guy), like to drive head first into. Results in huge pile ups, and me sitting there pulling my hair out.
 
I just owned shop in b spec with the chaparrel 2d.

Set tje tranny to one notch below 155. My bob drive the hell out of it. Lvl24
 
Use the Toyota 7 race car. Restart race if 2J is to far up front at starting grid. Push driver to overtake ALL the time EXCEPT at chicane after back straight and chicane before straight.

Use close gear ratio, max downforce jada, jada, jada.

Should be OK after a couple of tries and you don't need to buy a car.
 
I completed it yesterday onboard a Toyota 7 ( B-spec).
I bought a 3rd phase Turbo to raise it's power, and entered the race.
After repeating it several times, I managed to win, here are some suggestions:

1) If on the front grid there are a Ferrari 330 P4, a Toyota 7 and a Ford GT40 all togheter, get out of the race and reload it, until there's just one or at last 2 of them, since they go very fast.

2)The Toyota 7 has a bad standing acceleration, so you have to already choose "speed up" before the green light, then immediately after choose "overtake".

3)Use "speed down" before you reach the chicane out of the tunnel, and before the last corner of the race (the one which connects you to the straight), in these 2 points your car or the others' tend to crash on the walls because of IA retarded mentality (they turn too much in advance).
Use "overtake" just after the first corner of the race. There the toyota goes fast enough to try an overtaking.
 
Restart the race if the 2J starts ahead of you or manages to get to the front of the pack. I raced a little dirty on some corners to move my way to the front, and then it's just a matter of not hitting anything once you have the lead since most of the time you are going so slowly that tapping the wall will bring you to a dead stop.

Regarding B-spec and the Toyota RC, it took my B-spec guy something like 5 or 6 tries. He finished as low as 11th, but eventually he won.

I T-boned him at the Casino hairpin to grab the lead. I really had no choice. It was the only way to win it. I did apologize after the race, but he wanted nothing to do with me. Understandable.
