I was thinking in work today how many times gran turismo mobile has been pushed back, And I thought how PD is working on other things that arnt as important as the main goal eg. GTTV instead of patching (private rooms etc) Do you think this could slip thier minds to posibly end up doing this with gt5?

I expect a large chunk of their manpower is still working on GT5. They may be publicising GT-TV more but I'm pretty sure they'll be working damn hard on the game itself behind the scenes.

i certainly hope so, I really want this game bad, or some fresh content, I was suprised I bought everything and got most events gold except for the odd few and time laps.

I wouldn't be surprised if PD just kept on updating Prologue for a year-year and a half or so and then issued a big final update witch turned it into the full GT5.
My guess anyway...could be way off.

gttv has probably also got a money/advertising issue with it...as they are showing lots of highly appreciated programmes ,i guess they have made good deals for it and get even more attention from people who didn't know the gt-series....so they will sell more copies at the end......

think that whas a bigger prioraty than putting in patches fast...

he,this is just a quick thought you know...:sly:

spyrrari.

proberly was, but i think gaming comes first before entertainment, it is a nice addition with it being motoring shows/content etc, but im sure everyone else is more instrested in racing than watching videos. we have tv for that and dvds

theyd still have to release the Blu-Ray version. people arent going to buy half a full game just to update it online. they'd also have to charge $60 bucks for the final update, and i dont think many people would want to spend that much updating a game when they could spend 60 to get the same game with a case and booklet.

well thats another thing you need to take into factor, Download limits and Disk storage, personally ill pay games off the store but nothing really exspensive, siren was 20 quid and racked up 9gb, i think gran turismo prologue is already in the 7gb limit now isnt it and imagine that content towards the final content in the full release. Im sure they will make us spend more money as gran turismo is a huge selling point for the ps3

Prologue is probably their main focus at the moment because of all the updates to the game...but I bet a massive part of their team is working really hard on the full version of Gran Turismo 5...hopefully they don't have to push it back anymore.

Yes I hope you guys are right about PD team focusing on GT5, but I think if KY says 2010 then you should expect it to come...no sooner than 2010.;) Unless Kaz is getting a little tricky by saying 2010 when secretly he has a date more like Mid 09 in mind, maybe he wants to shake up the routine of Gran Turismo release dates being late all the time lol:D Fan's wouldnt see it comin!!

You forget that all the content in GT5P is the basis for the full GT5.
The more they build on GT5P the less work they have to do on the full game.

I think Proloque will eventually evolve into GT5. I think that a perfectionist team like PD would like to have the opportunity to improve their product continuously rather than having to spit out 1 final release every couple of years. They keep delaying their product because there's only one opportunity for release and that's it: the next GT will be in another 4 years. With online updates you can do multiple updates, some free and maybe some paid (in order to pay the bills). At some point in time they can release a Bluray disk for the customers with more patience than us.

This reasoning has been mentioned here before by other people but I just realised that PD has been structured for such a process for years. In an interview with Edge magazine (issue 143, december 2004) the following question was asked:

Edge:
Having made a series of racing games like this, you must have come across many challenges. How do you deal with producing better sequels?

Kazunori Yamauchi:
There is one unique aspect of our development process for Gran Turismo. When we move from one version to the following one, there is not a single point during development that the game is not playable. We evolve the game from one version to the next, so it's playable right from the start. Adding new cars or tracks is not that difficult, you just need to make them fit the needs of the new version.

This also explains why they make those demo versions so often where there's new cars on older tracks. It's just the latest GT version where only certain aspects have been updated (car models updated only in GT2000, graphics, sound and driving model in GT3 Proloque, further driving model update and contents in GT3, Nurburgring from GT4 in GT5P, etc, etc)

yeah i heard that a few times, about the old model nurb being the one used for the 24 hour race gt5p demos

IMO, the GT4 PSP version is nothing more than a SONY PR ploy to boost PSP sales. They basically released a lie so people will buy the PSP when it was launched.

IMO, KY never intended to develop a GT4 mobile version for PSP back then; but they are forced by SONY to buy into that lie and now they have to keep making excuses about it.
