Could the 2020 Shelby GT500 be a good replacement for the Ford GT in the GT LM class?

With the Ford GT no longer having factory support in racing after 2019 and Ford not entering the 2020 FIA hypercar class I was left wondering: Could the 2020 Shelby GT500 be a good GT LM racer? I know that it will most likely never ever happen but it's an interesting thought. I know it has the power(maybe too much, they would have to turn it down) but what else would it need to be competitive?

MARC II V8 is probably the closest we'll see to a Mustang endurance racer. Would be cool if Ford did make a factory Mustang LM though.
