CounterSpy is a side scrolling stealth game currently on PS3, PS4, PSVita and iOS/Android.

It is a 2.5D sidescroller focused on stealth and with randomly generated levels. It is set in an alternate version of the Cold War, with 2 states, based off of the USA and the Soviet Union, who's goal are to blow up the moon. Your objective is to sneak into military bases and steal launch plans to stop them from doing this. Collecting enough launch plans unlocks the final mission.

There are no lives, instead there is DEFCON. When you start the game both sides are at DEFCON 3. Getting spotted by cameras, allowing guards to radio reinforcements and dying all raise the DEFCON level. When the DEFCON reaches 0, a launch countdown starts in which you have 60 seconds to reach the end of the level and stop the missiles from launching. If they do the game ends and you have to restart the level.

The game gets harder as you progress, including bulletproof cameras, tougher enemies and enemies using explosives.

I got this from Playstation Plus for my PS3, but not tried it yet. The style, both gameplay-wise, and aesthetically, reminds me of Another World and Flashback.

You should. Big stealth game, don't expect to win guns blazing. I've nearly completed it now (4 more launch plans until I unlock the final mission). Near the end it gets real hard with stronger guards and some have RPG's and grenades.
