Country "racism" !

Hi people. Im posting this thread because everytime I enter a drag room, I get kicked just because I'm from a different country. It happen right now and I'm sick of this! Its not my fault that im from another country (Portugal). Gt5 community its from all over the world and other players from other countrys got the right to play and to socialize too.

If you're US, then it's just them claiming the american stereotype of unintelligence, muscle cars, ect.
If you're *EU, Asia, *SA, *ME, Africa, or some other I didn't mention, then apologies on behalf of all of those ignorant US.
Not all americans are like that though; just stick to your friends, or look for people on GTP.
It's sad, but it's the internet too.

Im from Portugal. I know that not all americans are like that. I got friends from the US too :)
 
Odd…I've been in quite a few rooms hosted by the US and only one of the hosts have been even remotely racist. Try looking in rooms with some GTP users in them, or just join a friend. And are you sure it's for racism reasons? Sometimes, hosts will kick people to keep the room's connection clean.
 
The only kicking i see caused by country of origin is when you slow the room down because of your geographical location messing up the speed of the room.

I am not sure if thats true, i rarely host rooms but i have overheard people talking about certain countries that make a room lag so those people are kicked.

I guess this is more prevalent in drag rooms that use tree/ghost because that is where lag can be noticed the most.
 
Lots of times its simply because of lag. If you are from another country than the host odds are you will lag. No racism.

+1....that is the reason nine times out of ten...but it does cause lag sometimes but not always the host should at least give them a chance

I would keep you guys in but the attitudes of 99% of Portugese players in drag rooms are absolutely pathetic and your connections are even worse!! Spanish, French & German connections are the same, making this bermuda triangle of bad connections. But atleast the other 3 countries have players that are a bit more humble and don't act like assclowns, not trying to swear at us in broken english with played out 20yr old "Your mother" jokes thinking that you guys are good enough to race with decent pro tuners. That's why you get a lot of people instant kicking Portugese players. I'll keep an eye on your name though to see if you're part of the 1% if you come into one of our rooms, I have two Portugese players who are welcome (rines07 & TacchiniGTI). 👍
 
Stop using the word "racism" when you don't know what it means..

KKK = racism
kik the flag = not racism

Anyway, people are always scared of lag and thats the way it is.

I respect your coment bro. And its true that almost portuguese players are complete clowns but kicking people 3 seconds after you join the room and they see that you are from a diferent coutry its just not right. 👍

If you really want to change things, you can go into your router settings and change your port settings to choose your IP address by using a proxy. But this can be very tedious and usually just slows down your connection...

correct! theres only a handful that actually is there to drag i cannot lie most of the time the ones from other countries often cause problems and they come in talking big and bad so often i beat them then kick them out but if your cool there shouldnt be a problem us decent to pro draggers are open minded (well at times) so you are welcome to join our rooms as long as your not an idiot:tup:

Very true.... You can be lagging and jumping all over everyone elses screen banging into everyone and not even be aware of it, and you'll usually be kicked promptly.

You know if your lagging bad. I've left rooms out of courtesy but I've never actually been kicked.

Sometimes yes but sometimes you only see 1 other car out of 6 or 7 and you think it only him lagging, but if I hear someone say I'm lagging I'll leave, even though I see no evidence of it. Then I'll go find another room and ask if I'm lagging there...if so I'll just go to the Ferrari challenge and rebuild my bank account offline.

I just keep a log of that person's name and repay the favour the next time they try to come into my room. :cool: People's memories on PSN seem to be shorter than a pothead that's just had an ounce of Amsterdam's finest!! :lol:

Though I was born in London I live in Lisbon (portugal) and from my experience playing online (wich on open lobbies is not all that big) to be honnest I think its pretty much the same thing all over the world, there are clean mature racers and there are kids just messing around everywere. I cant say I have ever ran into a «Portuguese clown» if I did I dont remember... so how can you expect other people to respect you if you dont respect yourself...

EDIT: and its not Racism, its Xenophobia...

Same here,
I've joined Aussie and NZ Indy Drag rooms. When entering these lobbies, I always ask the room to inform me if I am lagging and they will...if so then I leave on my own. It happens 2 out of 5 times.
 
Don't worry man it happens to everyone. I have been kicked from rooms before from all countries just because I'm not from there. Only thing I hoping is it's because they assume I will slow down there serves since I'm so far away.
