First up, does every car appear in the used car lot at some point? So If I keep rotating it, stuff like the Bently Speed 8 will show up.

If I buy a FGT, can I just point it at the B-Spec PGT Championship and walk away, given that my Bob is level 24?

Everything Standard will appear there at some point. Check TornadoAlley's spreadsheet in the Used Car Database thread for what, when and how you find out where you are.

Probably not - all the AI drivers will be of an equivalent level too...
 
So, will I need to level Bob up a bit first?

Is this going to involve many laps of Daytona?
 
Bob can win the race with ease if you ..
1: Use soft race tires
2: Pit at the midway point of each race.

If left on his own Bob will wear the tires down to the cords and is not as likely to win where as if you pit him midway he will have good tires the whole race as opposed to the AI whos tires have already degraded.

I used this strategy on every track except Monaco and it worked flawlessly with a level 17 Bob. Monaco on the other hand is so hard to pass on I just coached Bob the whole race to get the gold. Most of the races require at least one pit so is better to pit early and even the ones that may not require it Bob is still faster with the fresh tires.

Example Indy Race after 15 laps Bob was in 5th place with no coaching. I told him to pit and he fell to 8th place while in the pits. On lap 20 he was in 1st place and was begining to pull away.
