Hi im new. First question, am I the only person who loves this series for the EXACT opposite purpose to what this game is built aroubd? And thats being able to tune, buy and rAce new or used street cars of all types, I loved having a choice between like 13 very different evo model numbers and body shapes etc to enjoy, hear all their different sounds, compare them, and time them against eachother.. THEY KNEW this aspect was the heart of the game.. so what do they do? The oldest car we've got that can be bought new is like a crappy 09 impreza, and am the only person who nearly puked when they saw NONE of the beautiful, old WORLD famous 99s and 2000 civics, preludes, imprezas, legacys, evos, gtos, ftos, and the fact they GUTTED the thrill of upgrading ur cars.... id say a good 80+ percentage of gran turismo lovers LOVE road cars and rally and road race cars, why? Because it wS gran turismo that started a whole generation of us LOVING and understanding cars ffs. How the hell are they getting away with just making boring, all the same gt and 700bhp le mans cars? They spend so mu h time and effort on those **** concept class cars than anything. Then I though ah theyre releasing 500 cars altogether with patches yhough, but theyve added lik40 already, and its MORE crappy identical race cars and F1 cars....

Secondly are you guys underwhelmed with sound? I have a 2001 impreza wrx sti, and you lnow what they soind like, massively deep, bassy, it vibrates through you and when it accelerated you get that crackly Big fat burbling sound you cant mistake for an impreza, u feel it rmbling in ur chest... NOW go listen to the WRX in game what the ****????? It sounds more like 90s mini cooper with a bunch of towels around the exchaust to block out 90 pc of yhr sound... they KNOW what those imprezas sound like irl... my heart is broken wtf have they done? Any yhoughts on my points? im devastated, 5 years in the works, in the in game imoreza now, if my ohone rang while I wzs siyying in it, but the phone was on vibrate, itd be louder than the 09 impreza engine sound, please tell me im not crazy...much love

I didn't understand everything to be honest, but I agree that PD did a little bit to radical change with GTS.

They should have tried to keep as much as possible from the old style, meaning a decent career mode with championchips and so on.

Because, trying to encourage (or force) people into online competition by not offering a career mode didn't work out very well from my observation. The players complained very much and only around 10% as far as I remember joined frequently sportmode, the others spended their time mostly with liveries I guess.

But about cars I'm fine to be honest. Because we had 1200 cars in GT6 and 1000 of them were low quality. Then I prefer having 200 but well made.

I guess ur right about the game being advertised as a sport game, I mean it apparently says it in the title.

Yeah with unequal length headers and what that sounds like with the firing order you get tgat almost growl sound, but with 2x2 eqal length headers, you STILL get the burble which is just inate in that boxer design and exhaust system, you just get a little less of a frequency on the growl.
Ive seen plenty of guys who didnt like the shouty nature of the 4x headers, so they put in their own 2x2 systems, the cars still sound beauitiful and VERY deep and bassy, just a less prounces or rather, a longer frequency pulse on the growl making is NO less loud, but just a tad less aggressive until you mash the throttle

Hey man thanks, be careful here, because ive received so many negative or matter of fact responses that im wondering if anyone will ever say kaz can do anything wrong? im my opinion now dude after not getting a single positive reply, they wont ever replace him as director, because nobody ever complains about what hes doing.

Like I said, when gt 1 and2 came out, what did you spend most of your time in? For me it was testing out how sick I could make all the riad cars, and sometime id use the rally cars. But even though we are both correct in saying that in this installment that the soul of the game has been ripped out by removing all if those 90s and early 2000s japanese and american machines like the imprezas, hondas, lancers and evo, there isnt a single person apart from me and you who give a damn? Like imagine how much time went into creating those ridiculous gran turismo concept cars, when basically no one drives them? This is definitely the single least fun installment of gt ive ever bought, and in my opinion, it has approx 60 less content than the next weakest.. I mean gt 5 prologue has about the same amount of content as this does right? What I mean by that is, even though there was 177 cars at launch, theres actually only 1 or 2 that you actually care about driving right? I was shocked when I opened up the manufacturer pages like mitsubishi and subaru and saw 7 cars in one and 5 cars in the other???

Thank you for agreeing with me! Japanese scoobie wrx stis made just as much of an unholy racket as the uk ones. And thats why I was complaining about that 09 impreza in the game, it sounds more like a civic than that big beautiful burbling impreza, I mean when has an impreza wrx ever been near you and sounded as weak and quiet as that 09 wrx in gt sport? People wont even complain about that, people seem to think everything polyphony do is 10/10and matter of factly tell me 'nope, you're wrong' even telling me, an imoreza wrx sti owner that my car in fact DOESNT make the sound of that burble I hear every day, and in fact im just imagining it, and the 09 impreza in the game is actually how imprezas sound and that I shoukd shut up.. right?

Just check the amount of likes the comments against me saying the game isnt gran turismo anymore have. I basically said, they have removed everything that made people love gran turismo in the first place, I mean, only seeing between 1 and 6 cars per manufacturer... in GRAN TURISMO?? And 90 pecent of those are race cars or concept cars. And I only got 2 likes. Then the comments made against my argument getting 5 - 10 likes? Its like some weird clockwork orange world we live in... because 2 people were sad like me that the real gran turismo was gone, no more 25 cars in a manufacturer, and another 40 in that manufacturers used car section, and only a couple of race cars, and then 10 people liked the fact that maybe 60 percent or more of the content that makes gt... gt has been ripped out giving us only a couple of cars per manufacturer, and no GRAN TURISMO single player campain shows me that people will be happy no matter how little of a game you give them. Basically 80 percent more people said 'yes please, go ahead and only give us a game for full price with 2 3rds of the thing taken out and no single player gt mode, and we'll love it. How can u win an argument against these people, its impossible.

And then the fact that I was told that the impreza (thats crazy.. THE only impreza in the game as a road car lol) sounded exactly like an impreza is supposed to, and I was wrong, even though I have one of them sitting in my driveway just means that they think this 30 percent of a game that has literally nothing to do with what gran turismo is, is 10/10 perfect and cant be made better. No matter what I complain about or ask for im wrong, and theres 10 people liking the 4 commemts TELLING me im wrong, maybe tells me the GT I used to know and love is truly a thing of the past and I should move on, which an hour ago I just did. I traded it in for Forza 7.

I mean, why should I have Gran Turismo sitting there, with only 200 race cars and almost no street cars and no single player on it, when I can get Forza which has nearly 300 race cars in it AND nearly 400 besutifully modelled road cars onTOP of having numerous online features,competitions, challenges and a vast single player mode... GT is basically a Demo compared to Forza, and it looks better... we waited 5 years for 177 racing cars and some pretty tracks and an online racing mode, and then to be categorically told that anything I find missing or wrong with the game from the sound to the missing single player all the way to the 5 cars per manufacturer, that im completely wrong, and that I should shut up and get in line. That was enough for me to make my decision, id advise you do the same, youre missing out on a true driving simulator, that covers ALL car types, all the way from super cars, down to the cars that are probabky sitting in the parking lot behind the place you work at. It is man, the more you say 'no this crap isnt Acceptable' the more complaints reach the ears of the creators. They should be ashamed of themselves making us wait 5 years and dropping GT 7 Prologue and charging us full price. Lets say, ur not into online racing... but are a long time gt player... you're fresh out of luck. We shoukd be kicking and screaming until we loyal fans get the game we deserve

It's very easy to say that if you want to ignore that some of us just have a different opinion to yours. There are countless threads and posts here criticizing Kaz and PD.

This is not GT7. They took a huge risk not including many of the features that has made GT so popular. I suspect it was to force people online. I only play on PS4 and I had no idea online racing could better offline until I experienced GTS's matchmaking. For the casual racer they've made online racing instantly enjoyable. It's likely that every new sim-racer release for the foreseeable future will include a similar matchmaking system. PD should be commended for taking the risk.

I think most people want a level playing field for online races and therefore don't want tuning. Even if I'm wrong about that and people do want tuning most would just copy tunes from those who are willing to put time into perfecting them.

Regarding the slimmed down car count (and the number of tracks), I wasn't impressed when the game was released. However, new content keeps getting added and shows no sign of abating yet. 2/3 of the racing is with race cars (more if we include the FIA seasons) so I'm not too pushed to gather road cars that I'll rarely use.

I don't say you're wrong, its nothing of beeing wrong or right anyway. You obviously just miss the previous GT mentality with all their contents.

I -and I'm sure many others, perhaps even the majority- also miss many features of the old parts.

But its now 8 month since release and most people have got used to it and found meanwhile other points to motivate theirselfes.

In my case for example, I prefer online competition over the car amount of previous parts.

You weren't told that at all, and the car in your driveway isn't the one in the game so it isn't relevant.

The Boxer woofle comes from unequal length headers. With equal length headers the exhaust pulses from each cylinder arrive at the union in their firing order sequence in a constant stream. With unequal length headers they arrive in overlapping bunches with gaps between them, with one bank arriving as an overlapping pair, then a gap to the pair from the other bank. That's what causes the sound - you could put an unequal length header on an MX-5 or Civic and get the same effect. Nobody does as there's no point - it's just a packaging thing on Imprezas. You've got the car; go outside and take the headers off - run it open - and tell me it still burbles.

If you want to find out what cars other people want in GT games, that forum is here. So that one doesn't have any legs on it either.

Also I typed this on my phone screen. Notice how it's legible? That's because I took time and care, and occasionally the suggested text corrections, and because the AUP doesn't say "Oh, you're on your phone? Doesn't matter then, post as much drivel and textspeak as you like."

True. Maybe by Kaz's standards GT Sport is not a great success. If he ( or the folks at PD ) look at the stats on Kudos, they'll see how online participation has steadily declined. Makes me wonder if they changed the daily races to weekly in order to free up personnel to work on GT 7. At their usual pace they ought to release in sometime around 2023.
