So I've been hotlapping for the last two weeks on a pair of tracks I made with the road width set to -5. I've had tons of fun, but now I've gone back to track racing to make some fat ducats to feed my hotlapping addiction and everything feels so slow.

The problem is how wide the tracks are, even a lowly Kei car feels zippy with -5 width, but tracks are like +100 and everything below about 300hp feels deadly slow. My cornering has gone to poop as I don't realize just how fast I'm actually going.

Let this be a warning, I'm really holding out for an event creator, so I can make some money on my hotlap tracks.

I don't understand how a track can affect your feeling of speed?

going from a fast car, to a slow one is understandable
but from a track to track makes no sense?

it does, watch a rally video, it looks that they are going super fast because the road is very narrow and the trees and objects are closer

Exactly, I'm sure if I go back and just race wide tracks again, the sensation will return, but right now tracks feel so slow. I'm totally overcooking it coming into corners, I think I'm doing about 50 MPH, but I look down and it's more like 100 MPH.

Heh, same thing happened to me when I got in my car at the airport after being in Europe for 3 weeks. I felt like all the other cars were 35 miles away from me on both sides.. But part of being a successful racer is being able to adapt to changing conditions and different tracks.

I lost 50 pounds with my copy of Gran Turismo!

Try driving on the Nurby Nordy, then switch to the GP course:crazy:

It's your feeling of it. There are wide tracks and narrow tracks in real life too.
