crack the code; win $1 million and a job for life

There was a similar contest some years back held by some government agency in Asia (some asian country - i'm fairly sure it was Japan). The contest was shot down because some countries started b!tching about security.

This one kicks ass because the company is based right here in good old Mississauga :D. If you ask me though, t can be cracked because it's made by human hands - human hands make errors that other humans WILL eventually find. Just a matter of time till someone breaks it. With processing power getting to where it currently is, it's not difficult to even go as far as creating small supercomputers in home to crack this sort of thing.

well If someone can crack the code you know you need to keep working, if no one can then you have bragging rights that no one in the world can crack your code, what better wy to entice people than with a million dollar prize?

1 million isnt alot of money if you think about it though thats only enough for my family for 2 years so you'd need the high paying job. and its not as though anybodys gonna crack it anyway.

As for cracking the code, don't start spending the money yet. One team headed by a group of mathematicians at Notre Dame University did manage to crack one of the lower-end "keys" that keep ECC communications secure. It took 10,000 computers running 24 hours a day for a year and a half to do it.
Good luck.

suuuure ... Grow up and try living on your own and THEN say that it isn't a lot of money.

We're talking dollars here and not in terms of Russian rubles (or whatever).
