Damn that's quick!

If he didn't win I'll be amazed.

Wouldn't catch me doing that, that's for sure.

Its not an R8. How would a "nutso" doing a hillclimb get his hands on an R8?

I was simply astonished how fast it accelerated, I knew an R8 couldn't be that fast? Or is it?

Pretty damn amazing. I love how late he turns in on the hairpins, feels like he is gonna go off the road sometimes.

The car weighs approx. 600kilos and is running a 3 litre BMW I-6 kicking out around 400bhp, so its got a power to weight ratio of around 665bhp per tonne, which is damn impressive in anyone's book.

The R8 ran 625bhp at its peak and weighed 909 kilos, so its power to weight was approx 685bhp per tonne, of course the R8 figures will vary depending on what year you look at and the regs in place.

So the R8 has the slight PTW advantage, but given that the M20 would be gear for hill climbs I would give it the edge acceleration wise, but its a close call.

I'd imagine if the Audi was geared for a hill climb, and had the suspension setup for it... er, we'll just say all things being equal; the (first generation) R8 would take it. Couldn't say the same about the other members of the R8 family; R8R, R8C, Bentley EXP Speed 8, Bentley Speed 8, second gen R8... they all had to deal with different regs.

EDIT: Just saw Scaff's post... probably should have read the whole deal first. Sorry gents.

Do they accelerate THAT quick? Wow, you really don't notice that when watching Le Mans
