Newbie poster here but I've been a lurker for years. Quick backstory: Last holiday season my PS3 went bad. It wasn't a replacement priority since I had a 360 but yesterday I managed a sweet deal on a new PS3 so I can be ready for GT6 when it arrives.
I decided to load up GT5 on my new PS3 since I hadn't played it in nearly a year and immediately noticed something was WAY off. I realize it has been many months since I have played it so my memory of some details might be way off, but my active car was a 87 GNX which I don't recall ever driving. When I entered my garage I noticed immediately that something was wrong with my premium car list. First off I always have doubles of every car one for engine/weight and one to leave stock. All but one of my Ferrari's were gone. All my chevrolet products were reverted to stock form with 0 miles. All my dodge products were the same way but what is odd about those are if I sort by date acquired, they all show up one after another as if I bought all the dodge products at once, even the DLC Challenger. I could list tons more things but lets just say there was definitely something wrong with many of the cars I own however I will say it definitely was my garage due to some of the wheel/body color schemes I had.
Now that's not the crazy part. The crazy part is sitting in my garage are multiple duplicates of a few of the stealth cars(SLS, Mclaren and both GT500 cars). The SLSs have orange ! next to them telling me I need to redownload them which I am assuming means that I'm not authorized to use. I didn't own any stealth cars. The only special release cars I had were the Lambo, Cobra and Mercedes chromeline, which oddly enough are all missing.
I'm guessing I'll just need to start a new game which isn't a big deal I'm just curious if anyone has ever heard of this happening. I guess the biggest question is could someone have accessed my PSN account and done this? I have a fairly strong password that is unique to my PSN account but anything is possible I guess.
