At the moment, there are 39 menu books - most of them containing groups of 3 cars. In this thread, I want you to create your own - either with cars that are in the game, not in the game or both.

Here are a few of mine:
Group A Rally
-Mitsubishi Evo VI TME
-Subaru Impreza 22B
-Ford Escort Cosworth

90's Supercars
-Bugatti EB110
-Jaguar XJ220
-McLaren F1

Aston Martin
-Aston Martin DB5
-Aston Martin Vantage S
-Aston Martin DB11

HSV
-HSV GTS-R (VS)
-HSV Coupe 4 (VY)
-HSV GTS-R W1 (VF)

Nice list, I hope we get the 90's supercars one, I've been missing the XJ220.

I'll add 3 more:

Hardcore Saloons/Coupes:
Alfa Giulia GTaM,
Mercedes C63 Black,
Jaguar Project 8

GT1 Legends:
Toyota GT-One,
Nissan R390 GT1,
Porsche 911 GT1 (Race Version)

Restomods:
Singer DLS,
Eagle Speedster,
Singer Turbo

Group A Rally
-Mitsubishi Evo VI TME
-Subaru Impreza 22B
-Ford Escort Cosworth

90's Supercars
-Bugatti EB110
-Jaguar XJ220
-McLaren F1
They are so close to making this work and both of these would be an absolutely legendary collection in real life. I hope they've got this in mind.

90s Japanese FF Sports
  • 1992 Honda Civic SiR
  • 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R
  • 1991 Toyota Corolla Levin GT

British 12-cylinder Coupes
  • 1988 Jaguar XJR-S
  • 1999 Aston Martin DB7 V12 Vantage
  • 2018 Bentley Continental GT W12

Mercedes Muscle Sedans
  • 1990 Mercedes 500E
  • 2008 Mercedes C63 AMG
  • 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe

German Battle Wagons
  • 2007 BMW M5 Touring
  • 2008 Audi RS6 Avant
  • 2006 Mercedes E55 AMG Wagon

There are too many cool and iconic cars to pair up and tell a story about honestly.

Well, with the in-game cars (a lot of late game potential seems to be wasted):
It's a very long article, so behold:

Kei Sports (difficulty: Low) - All 3 cars can be obtained as prize cars, obviously early-game.
  • Honda Beat
  • Daihatsu Copen
  • Honda S660
Audi (difficulty: Low-Medium) - I will argue that a significant contribution of Audi in the history of the 'sports car' was to make them more practical and livable, hence the car choices.
  • Audi TT 3.2 quattro
  • Audi TTS
  • Audi R8 4.2 FSI quattro
Volkswagen GTI (difficulty: Low)
  • Volkswagen Polo GTI
  • Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk7
  • Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk1
Mazda Rotary (difficulty: Medium) - RX-7 FC would potentially appear as a prize car (waiting it to drop in the UCD just for this would be cruel), the others could be bought in the Brand Central. FD is pretty expensive though.
  • Mazda RX-7 FC GT-X
  • Mazda RX-7 FD Spirit R
  • Mazda RX-8 Spirit R
Nissan Fairlady (difficulty: Medium) - Z432 should be a prize car, similar to the Mustang Boss 429 from the Mustang series, otherwise it becomes very difficult to complete. Also thought on whether the Z34 or Z33 would be better but decided on that the Z33 would better represent the history, even though the Z34 is more current.
  • Nissan Fairlady Z432
  • Nissan Fairlady 300ZX TT 2seater
  • Nissan Fairlady Z33 (repeating car from Nissan Sports Cars)
Classic Muscle (difficulty: Low-Medium) - Unlocked after completion of 2 collection of Mustang vs Camaro. Menu Book 25 would potentially give the Challenger for free too! Otherwise the Challenger would be available as a Prize car somewhere else in America.
  • Dodge Challenger R/T 1970
  • Chevrolet Camaro Z28 1969
  • Ford Mustang Mach 1 1971
Modern Muscle (difficulty: Low-Medium) - The GT350R is not repeated in the Ford Mustang collection.
  • Ford Shelby GT350R
  • Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE
  • Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
Dodge (difficulty: Medium) - The pinnacle of "American Muscle" for me, even though the Viper isn't; that said, despite the supercar status, the Viper's brute-force approach, building the car around the engine, is uncommon for most European and Japanese sports cars.
  • Dodge Challenger R/T 1970
  • Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
  • Dodge Viper GTS 2013
Japanese 90s Legends (difficulty: High) - The difficulty of this obviously has to do with procuring the NSX, which is very expensive and pops up randomly as a used car. Other 2 cars are found in existing collections.
  • Honda NSX Type R (1992MY only, not the 2002MY one from Brand Central)
  • Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 (repeating car from GT-R collection)
  • Toyota Supra RZ '97 (repeating car from Supra collection)
American Supercars (difficulty: Medium) - The C6 ZR1 is the only one not belonging to any other collection, but it can easily be obtained in the Brand Central.
  • Dodge Viper GTS 2013
  • Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1
  • Ford GT 2006
Euro Sports (difficulty: Medium-High) - Two of them can be obtained for free if you obtain the Porsche 997 in the Pan-Am series. Huracan must be bought from the Brand Central.
  • Ferrari 458
  • Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4
  • Porsche 997 GT3
Lamborghini (difficulty: High) - There are so many awesome Lambos in this game, but I will say that the Countach, the Huracan, and the Aventador SV would be the most significant ones that are featured in the game.
  • Lamborghini Countach LP400
  • Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4
  • Lamborghini Aventador SV750-4
Hypercars (difficulty: Extreme) - Requires invitations for all 3 cars hence the difficulty rating.
  • Bugatti Veyron 16.4
  • Pagani Huayra
  • LaFerrari
Track Hypercars (difficulty: Extreme)
  • McLaren P1 GTR
  • Pagani Zonda R
  • Aston Martin Vulcan
Le Mans Champions (difficulty: High-Extreme) - Perhaps easier than Hypercars due to all 3 cars being acquired through the Brand Central
  • Peugeot 908 HDI FAP (2009 winner)
  • Audi R18 TDI (2011 winner)
  • Toyota TS050 (2018~2020 winner)
Next-Level Racing (difficulty: High-Extreme) - Others might have different opinions on how VGTs should not compete in Group 1 or what types of VGT were the most outlandish, but I would say those 3 would best describe the word "Next-Level Racing"
  • McLaren Ultimate Vision GT Gr. 1
  • Mazda LM55 Vision GT Gr. 1
  • SRT Tomahawk Vision GT Gr. 1
Limit Break (difficulty: High-Extreme) - Featuring 3 of the fastest cars in this game
  • SRT Tomahawk X Vision GT
  • Gran Turismo X2019 Competition
  • Chaparral 2X Vision GT
Group C Legends (difficulty: Extreme) - Sorry Mercedes fans, that the C9 '89 couldn't make it in, but 787B and XJR9 were more significant competitors
  • Mazda 787B (1991 winner)
  • Jaguar XJR-9 (1988 winner)
  • Porsche 962 (multiple crown winner)
Gran Turismo Champions (difficulty: Medium-High) - represents the Manufacturers' series champions of GT Sport
  • Subaru WRX STI Gr. 3 (2020 winner)
  • Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept Gr. 3 (2019, 2021 winner)
  • Lexus RC F GT3 Gr. 3 (2018 winner)
1950s Racing Legends (difficulty: Extreme) - All of them are Legends
  • Mercedes-Benz 300SL CN.194
  • Jaguar D-Type
  • Aston Martin DB3S CN.1
1960s Racing Legends (difficulty: Extreme) - Quite possibly one of the hardest achievements in this game if implemented.
  • Ford Mk. IV - the Mk. I "road car" won't count.
  • Ferrari 330 P4
  • Porsche 917K
Two more collections, if we could add 1 car:
1950s Legends (difficulty: Extreme)
  • Mercedes-Benz 300SL
  • Porsche 356 Speedster (Coupe not eligible)
  • Corvette C1 '59 (this one is new, significant in Corvette history... Sure we have the Stingray Racer '59, but normal C1 looks better. A similar model was present in GT6 as the Art Morrison Corvette'60)
Lightweights (difficulty: Medium)
  • KTM X-Bow R
  • Radical SR3
  • Lotus 3-Eleven (If Lotus was here we would've got this)

Le Mans Legends

Ford GT Mk. IV
Ferrari 330 P4
Porsche 917

Luca: "Let me introduce to you the Legends of Le Mans, these cars were the icons of the great race in the period from 1965 to 1970 and even further into the 70's in the case of the Porsche"
"Now I want you to collect these three giants of automotive history. To achieve this before I die of old age, grab your best GrB car and head to Fishermans ranch"
"Now race around the track in a one lap sprint 2500 times then come back to the cafe and I'll tell you more about the cars"
"And dont forget the point of this game is to have fun. Enjoy"

Regarding "Vintage Rally Legends", why not put a Renault R8 Gordini or the Renault R5 Turbo instead of the Peugeot 205 Turbo? The R8 competed with Group 4 cars from the 1960s (despite its Group 2 status), and the R5 did compete as a Group 4 car for a short period, unlike the 205 T16.

There are two model years for the Civic Type R (1997, 1998) and the NSX Type R (1992, 2002). Which ones should be eligible?

The BMW Z8's position in the collection "Roadsters" is somewhat off because of its very high valuation compared to the others, as well as its classification as a 'luxury' car, instead of 'sports car' of the other two. I would suggest a Honda S2000, what about you?

I don't know why you'd deny Z8 being a roadster, because that's what it is :P And I honestly forgot all about S2000, that'd replace Barchetta then.

As for 205, I feel like it was more significant than Renault R5, but I did consider it.

I didn't mean I would deny that the Z8 is a roadster, I just thought it felt more like a cruiser than a sports car like the other 2 roadsters. That said, I do think this is a great roadster for cruising in somewhere like Sardegna (especially top down). It's unfortunate that the BMW Z4 3.0i is no longer with us, since it was present as a Premium in GT6, and would perhaps replace the Z8 for me in this collection.

Classic Hyper Hatches

Ford Escort Cosworth
Nissan Sunny GTI-R
Toyota Celica GT Four

Sierra Sapphire Cosworth
Lotus Carlton
E34 BMW M5

Wolfsburg Wonders

Mk1 VW Golf GTI
Mk3 VW Golf VR6
Mk5 VW Golf GTI Edition 30

Continental 2 Doors

Audi S2 Coupé
BMW 635csi
Mercedes AMG W124 Coupé

There’s probably a load more I can’t think of right now, but you get the idea! Great idea for a thread btw 🙂

These 2 lists contain cars already in GT7, with a particular focus on 50s-60s classics.

Legends of Goodwood
  • Mini Cooper S
  • Ferrari 250 GTO
  • Aston Martin DB3S

These 3 iconic cars encapsulate the pedigree on show at the Goodwood revival, from elegant prancing horses to the small but mighty touring cars, with great British automotive heritage in abundance.

Big Cat Comeback
  • Jaguar D-type
  • Jaguar E-type
  • Jaguar F-type

Jaguar's alphabetical lineage was revived 40 years on from the end of production of the E-type, arguably Britain's greatest sports car of all time, with the release of the F-type.

It's a tragedy that they didn't have an NSX menu book. They could've mentioned the ties with Senna and his foundation, Suzuka & Nurburgrin GP test drives, the car's distinct design and reliability. Not to mention it started the Type R trim, handling...the list goes on and on....for shame.

Menu Book 40 - Acura/Honda NSX
  • Generation 1 - Honda NSX Type R '92
  • Generation 2 - Honda NSX Type R '02
  • Generation 3 - Honda NSX '17

I’d personally be extremely surprised if we had menus featuring more expensive cars, let alone race cars, but here were my ideas anyway. Some of these ideas also include cars that I’m speculating will be added in content updates.

-Le Mans 2016
Toyota TS050
Porsche 919
Audi R18 ‘16

-Le Mans 1954
Cunningham C4-R
Jaguar D-Type
Maserati A6GCS

-Group C
Jaguar XJR-9
Nissan R92CP
Mercedes-Benz Sauber C9

-Toyota “TS”
Toyota TS010
Toyota GT-One (TS020)
Toyota TS030

Alright, enough racecars - here were some more realistic menus.

-Lancer Evolution
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI TME

-Lamborghini
Lamborghini Huracan
Lamborghini Aventador
Lamborghini Murcielago

-Media Cars
Toyota Sprinter Trueno (AE86)
DMC Delorean S2
Aston Martin DB5

-Dodge
Dodge Challenger ‘70
Dodge Charger ‘70
Dodge Super Bee

-Subaru Impreza
Subaru Impreza WRX STI 22B
Subaru Impreza WRX STI Prodrive Style ‘01
Subaru Impreza WRX STI ‘10

I’d also like to see menus with other motifs, like a common designer or design firm, like Giugiaro or Pininfarina.

Specifically
Wangan Runners:
FD RX-7
A80 Supra
R33 GT-R

Kei Cars:
Honda Beat
Autozam AZ-1
Suzuki Cappuccino

Famous Movie Cars:
DMC DeLorean
Aston Martin DB5
Dodge Challenger R/T '70 (Alpine White)

In general, more race themed menus. GT3/4, LMP, classic LeMans 24h winners, etc.

Would require a few new cars, but a Mazda Rotary one would be awesome:

  • 1967 Cosmo 110s
  • 1991 Eunos JC Cosmo 20B
  • 1975 RX-3

I had more ideas!

-Mitsubishi Sports Cars
Eclipse GTS Mk.II
FTO
GTO

-Toyota Sports Cars
Celica GT-Four (ST205)
MR2 (SW11)
Altezza

-Toyota GR
GR Corolla
86 GRMN
GR 86

-Japanese Tuners
Nismo 400R
TRD 3000GT
Mugen S2000

-Nismo
Nismo 270R
Nismo Fairlady Z (Z33) Z-Tune
Nissan GT-R Nismo

-British Sport Classics
MG B
Lotus Elise ‘96
Caterham 7

-Modern British Sports
Ariel Atom
Lotus Emira
LCC Rocket

-TVR
Sagaris
Cerbera Speed 6
Tuscan Speed 6

-Aston Martin
DBS Superleggera
Vanquish S ‘07

A few ideas, strictly using the cars and tracks already in the game, and continuing on from Book 39.

Book 40: Track Toys
  • BAC Mono
  • Radical SR3 SL
  • KTM X-Bow R
Assigned events: British Lightweights (Goodwood, Brands Hatch, Alsace)

Book 41: Modern Supercars
  • Ferrari F8 Tributo
  • McLaren 650S
  • Lamborghini Huracán
Assigned events: Premium Sports Lounge/Hypercar Racing Days (Monza, Interlagos, Daytona)

Book 42: Super GT
  • Subaru BRZ GT300
  • Honda NSX GT500 '08
  • Nissan GT-R GT500 '16
Assigned events: Super GT Cup (Suzuka, Fuji, Autopolis)

Book 43: JGTC Championship

Next time, Gr. 1 and beyond...

EDIT: With the 1.15 update adding three new menu books, it seems this post is now meaningless. However, I will still post more menu books if I get any ideas, carrying on from this instead of the new bonus menus.

I like the idea, but it looks like the most recent update has beaten you to the idea of menus 40, 41, and 42. I still really like the ideas you have - but with the new menus, I think it's very possible that we could get menu events that don't necessarily offer prize cars, and instead offer a single prize car for completing the entire menu, just as we see with the Lightweight K Cup menu netting you the Radical SR3 SL.

As for the Premium Sports Lounge/Hypercar Racing Days, I do hope we see the return of Ascari and/or Monaco, as I think those would be perfect (read: bougie) venues for such an event.

At any rate, here were my other concepts for events:
-700 or higher PP event, but not permitting race cars. Perhaps this could mark the return of the Tuning Car Grand Prix? And the prize car for completing the entire menu would be the GReddy Fugu Z. Of course, there'd be a race at Tokyo Expressway, ideally either one of the east or south layouts.

-A Gr.2 event with a limit of 850 PP. I already correctly predicted that a Gr.1 event would be best with a cap of 950 PP. Now, whether this will be open to all of Gr.2, or just a selection, that's another question. I think it's likely it'd include all of Gr.2, as I think just limiting the AI to the six Super GT500 cars - or just the two late 90s FIA GT1 cars - would not be in the character of what we've seen so far. Ideally, I'd hope PD adds such an event alongside the 2022 trio of GT500 racers, as that'd be perfect.
-The return of the World Classic Car Series, where the events would be very similar to the Alsace One Hour: 450 PP, limited to Comfort tires, for cars from 1979 or before.

-The return of the Prius Cup from GT6. While we'd only really have one car to use - with the Aqua not really counting - this could coincide well with a potential release of the Prius Prime, which I'd call the best-looking Prius by far.

-Similarly, I'd do the same with the Elise Trophy, which would be a great way to re-introduce Lotus into GT - if they want to play ball. It could permit all three iterations of the Elise, with the potential prize for completing the menu being the Elise GT1 Road Car. But that's if PD can find where the actual car is, as only one was built.

-The return of Like the Wind would be very easy to do. Perhaps too easy. Maybe this would be better as a mission, just as it was in GT Sport. In it, you could be on either the Blue Moon Bay Speedway, the Daytona Speedway, or Special Stage Route X, where you could have a simple race that's limited to Gr.1 cars that are 950 PP or less.

-I feel that the return of the F1500 Championship could prove interesting, with rounds at venues that may've not been used by F1 for some time. For examples, Brands Hatch, Fuji Speedway, and the Nurburgring GP. But I'd also go nuts if we saw the return of the Formula Gran Turismo, complete with the Formula GT event.

-One-make events in general seem like they'd be potentially better as mission races to me, but I'd be down for a series of races using one of the Red Bull machines at more modern F1 venues like Silverstone or Monza. After all, we are assigned the Red Bull X2014 Jr. for the Circuit Experience at Red Bull Ring.
