I recived an email that says from 1 April new company manage the ps3 network and you have to put a credit card to play in the ps3 network,somebody who is more informed , can tell as the details.

After reading the e-mail, it sounds like Sony is creating a new division to handle online playing. It probably wants a credit card number to charge you for things you buy from them.

Received the same email, still Sony just a different branch and the card is optional to have on file the same as it is now. Couldn't really tell any real differences from what is already in place.

Ignore.
I just buy PSN vouchers from trusted (r)etailers.

It's a scam, why would sony put ("SCEA") in one part then put SNEA 5 lines below, surely they would be the same all thru the e-mail, it also has your psn name in the email. i'd forward this to sony and see if this is legit or not. also why would they only give you 1 or 2 days notice to this happening?

I'm pretty sure the notification itself is valid - I received the same e-mail for both of my PSN accounts.

Having said that, I don't see any mention requiring a credit card to play online, but simply to 'accept' the new TOS once they come into effect.

If you read it correctly, they are switching who is controlling it. It is not a Scam just a notification. I see no where it mentions requires credit card info.

Yes, I received the same message on my PS3 and same instructions. I will find out soon enough, but I do not think you need a credit card 👍

The email did not state anything regarding the necessity to enter your credit card numbers. It only states that you have to accept the new ToC from April 1st onwards. I also received this email. It is not a phishing mail.

Anyway, I got that same e-mail. As far as we care, it's just a name change for Sony, but still no credit card needed to play online.
