I'm talking specifically download-only games here rather than where there is also a retail disc. A few years back I had a demo of a fun game called GTI Club+ Rally Cote D'Azur by Konami, but when I decided to buy the full game it had been withdrawn. More recently I downloaded a ton of demos to try them out and just noticed that the full games have been withdrawn for at least two - the tennis game Top Spin 4 and Gatling Gears, the latter of which I thought was fun and was looking out for it at a sale price.

GG has also been removed from Xbox Live at some point too, but these are each decent games compared to some of the dross that seems to have been available for years, so does anyone know what factors come in here? Seems a shame that these games are lost forever unless you happened to have bought them within a specific time frame.

It's up to the publisher, I think. I had the same thing with Armored Core 4, only AC: V and Verdict Day are on PSN right now. There may be other cases where it's up to Sony or there have been legal issues, but as far as I know most of them will be because the publisher no longer wants to sell them.

Not sure how (think its how they handle save files) but some games get taken down from the Vita sore due to jail breaking. The motostorm artic game was 1 if I remember correctly. Its fixed now though and is still in the store I think.

I think it comes down to licenses expiring.

I too was disappointed about GTI Club+. I remember trying it with a DS3 years ago and not being too taken, but later tried with a wheel thought it was a hoot. Then I found that it could no longer be purchased.

Never say lost forever - note the porting and revival of older games currently. Well keep an eye open and maybe they'll come back some day with Gaikai.

Sometimes you just can't keep hanging on waiting for a better price - storage of even digital media has a real-life cost and eventually certain games will become unviable to keep available.

Yeah, sometimes some games disappear from the market. I bought Blur in time though.

I'm curious to know how to purchase a demo of a game ?

Not sure I follow? I didn't say I purchased a demo, the demo of GTI Club was free and I had it on my HD for a while then decided to buy the full game, but it was no longer available. This is just one example, have noticed a couple of other titles where this has happened since, which I mentioned.

Or did you mean you wanted to somehow get the demo of GTI yourself? Not sure if this is possible without buying a PS3 with it already installed, though it is an arcade conversion and is "available" for MAME (umm if you own the original Jamma board of course!)

I liked GTI club too. It was somewhat fun for an arcade racer!

I made the mistake of deleting that demo from my PS3. Do games that get removed from the store also get removed from your download list in the case of demos? (I'm assuming not if you bought them of course).
