Crop? Outline? Remove? Extracting? Trace?

Hey all,

I wasn't sure what to search for but I have a specific question concerning PS7 and extracting image from the backround. Say for instance you had multiple boxes and a backround, how would you get thoughs boxes out of the image? As of now I use the "magic lasso tool" and essentially "trace" the object. The only thing is I have to trace each one separate. Isn't there a way to trace all of them and have them all selected at the same time so when you go to erase the backround all the boxes are saved?

yes, in the top left-hand corner there should be 3 buttons that have filled and empty boxes. Select the one that has 2 boxes filled overlapping each other (looks like a two-sided arrow facing the way of this slash almost \ ). Then you should be able to select all you want. Made a mistake in the selecting? hit the button with an empty box over a filled box. Hope that helps.
