I recently bought a second 7850 for my rig. I saw that the pci slots on my mobo could only do x8/x8. When I built my pc I had no idea about what to get for a mobo so I just went with a cheaper one. Is there any performance I'm losing with the pci slots being x8/x8? By the way my 7850's are oc'd to 1050/1290. Thanks.

It's nowhere near significant enough to worry about or even less a fraction of a second of sleep over.

Same applies to the slots themselves: you can stick a gen 3 card into a gen 2 slot (16x or 8x doesn't really matter) and the absolute most you'd be losing out on, given you're using the best card available at any given point, is about 2-6.5 frames, more or less.

If you're already comfortably over 60 frames then the losses are even more negligible.

From what I hear video cards do not even get close to using the full bandwidth of PCIe x16 anyway so it should be fine.
