I have been reading conflicting information on updating the firmware on the CSL Elite pedals with the loadcell. Some info states to update it through the wheelbase and some say update it separately. Can anyone lend any information pro or con to either method?

Thanks,

Keith.

I believe you need to update them separately but not sure it’s actually required if you have them connected to the wheelbase. I never updated my V3’s separately and they work perfectly fine through the wheelbase and also now I run them via usb.

The updater certainly only said it was updating the wheel firmware but perhaps it did both. I’ll check the updater tomorrow if you want and see what firmware it’s running and if it tries to update.

Thanks F Inferno. I'll give that a shot and see which one gives me better results. In addition, are you supposed to feel anything through the pedals? Right now I am not getting any "tactile" feedback and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to.

Tactile feedback as in vibration? Only the V3’s have vibration motors on them but don’t worry you aren’t missing much and only 2 games actually natively support them properly.

You should update them separately. But don't expect to see any dramatic changes, if you have them working correctly already propably you won't notice anything.
