Hi guys,

I received my CSR Elite yesterday and right out of the box noticed the wheel with its shaft moves back and forth for around one millimeter and makes faint knocking sound. It can also be felt when moving the wheel up and down.

Is this normal, or needs to be adjusted, and if yes--how?

Hi first thing to try is to see if the bolts that hold your wheel boss to the input shaft have worked lose. Pop the wheel off, two bolts on the back. One pointing up when you look at the back of the wheel turn the wheel 180 and there's the other. Slip the wheel of it's shaft and unclip the two wiring blocks. Look inside the black boss still attached to the input shaft and you will see six bolts from memory. See if these are lose, if so. A bit of thread lock and nip them up and fixed.

Not saying it is that but first place to look, and good practise for removing the wheel for when the new ones come out ;)

I did take apart the rim, but the bolts you're referring to seem to be secure and as scoddee mentioned above the lengthy CSR review thread, I found all the posts within and there are other users complaining of the same issue, but there is no resolution.

The entire shaft moves, not the wheel only, which I can clearly see through the plastic cover.

I will contact the Fanatec support and keep you updated, meantime, please chime in if you have an additional information.

This is not normal. Fanatec will be looking in to this when a few units are shipped back to them.

My shaft doesn't move. But my power brick arrived dead. I guess I got lucky overall, because the wheel is just amazing so far.

It's not normal. I theorized in the master thread that maybe the the snap rings around the rear bearing are missing or improperly installed.

I read all the related posts in master thread including your theory. So far that seems the most logical reason. I'm sure I can fix it if I disassemble the wheel, but I sent a support inquiry to Fanatec thus will wait for their response.

On the other note, maybe it's a good idea to post all the updates in this thread, as there are more than 230 pages in master thread with broad of unrelated posts which makes it very difficult to follow up.

As I promised to keep you updated...

I contacted Fanatec and received a response within 6 hours and the replacement wheel was shipped the next day. I received it yesterday and it is rock solid--no movement at all.

Thanks Fanatec, for a great support!

Mine has this issue as well.....pretty sure its a first batch flaw with some wheels. I contacted Fanatec support in Germany last Thursday night. I had an email waiting for me when I woke up late Friday morning requesting a video showing the issue. Made a quick vid and sent it in. Keep in mind by the time I sent it business hours were over in Germany. First thing Monday morning I had an email from my support agent apologize for my problem and provided an RMA link to fill out. He also provided some info for me to copy and paste in the message section that was basically an authorization for Endor in the USA to immediately ship me a replacement wheel. I submitted that yesterday and received an email first thing this morning that a new wheel was on its way to me from Endor USA and to send back my old one once the new one arrived and was happy with it.

All in all to this point my support experience was excellent.

Sounds good. I have one of the first wheels and mine has the shaft movement as well. I'm gonna make a video after work today and start the process to get it replaced. Don't really notice it while racing, but it definitely doesn't seem right. Glad to hear they are taking care of it.

Uh oh, another troy video. Last one generated some heat in here ;)
Just messin with ya, but hopefully you get sorted and they dont try to say you did it while doing your stress test video.

You know I was expecting someone to comment about me making another video. Hopefully whoever reads my support email doesn't figure out who I am or it might be a while before I get a new wheel.

Got a shipping confirmation and a new receipt for my new Elite ($0) this morning.

All in fun my friend. Im sure you wont have issues as thomas has acknowledged the problem already.

Unbelievable, finally got my wheel replaced after weeks. New wheel arrived today, I haven't even used it yet and I can already see some movement in the shaft after I mounted the wheel!!! I'm about to blow an f-ing gasket.

Now do I need to go through the whole support process again or am I able to reply to support from the first wheel emails? Thomas?

I would have hoped that they have a verified section for warranty claims. My wheel works and I can see how it will be great... but all these little short comings need to be dealt with. In roughly 12 hours of racing I have 2 patches worn out on the left side of the wheel, my rim flexes very easily and my shaft moves. The really odd part of this is, even with all that it's still the best wheel I've ever used. I just want it to work as it's supposed to.

Contact the support rep who e-mailed you initially directly ( the one you sent your videos too) as that rep is the one authorized to offer a replacement.

I ended up keeping my Elite wheel in the hopes they come up with a good GT rim. The rim on this wheel is the "short coming" IMO. As it is right now my Elite wheel is boxed up sitting in the corner until a replacement rim is found. I know a few people are working on adapter plates ATM.

Well, I replied to my last email from support with my new s/n , invoice and another vid. Even show both wheels in the vid so they can see I'm not trying to pull a fast one. Hopefully I'll hear back and not have to go through the waiting for weeks for support again. Here's a link to the vid I sent them this time. Sorry for my crappy commentary and the mess. Lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNvR0K4DM9o&sns=em

Well it has been a week since I tried emailing the same person I emailed for the original wheel with the loose shaft. Since I haven't recieved a reply I went and started all over again with emailing support. Made a new vid of the replacement wheel to send. The shaft seems to have gotten a little worse. Hopefully it won't take a month to get this one taken care of like the original wheel.
