I know there's a million threads asking to compare the two, but I'd like to know the difference mainly for drifting. I have a G25 with a chilicoke adapter and a 350mm deep dish wheel. I realize the wheel is pretty heavy, which slows it down, and I have thousands of miles on my setup. My FFB is starting to feel pretty weak.

I'm debating on doing the CSR, but I can't find any good videos that show how strong or fast the wheel is. I spend 50% of my time in GT5 drifting, and I'm getting sick of having to throw the wheel in both directions because it's not fast enough. If anyone has used both of these wheels and has any insight, I'd appreciate it. I've had the wheel and pedal adapter in my cart at Fanatec for 2 weeks now!

I don't know the speed of the CSR as I don't have one, but it might be an idea if you have the money to spend that is, to wait for the CSW. Since it has 2 motors it is at least guaranteed to have power enough to drive a 3rd party wheel, plus I am sure there is a quick release system out there that will work with that base and hub. Simply since Thomas showed a driver getting out of his car and popping it onto the CSW. So I reckon that this will be also possible with any wheel and a quick release system. Although if that will cause problems has to be seen.

Anyhow, I will let someone else reply now since they probably are more knowledgeable about the CSR.

I have a Fanatec GT3 which has the same motor as CSR and I can say it's very fast, I have drift setting on 3 and it's way faster than G25.
On 5 it'd be ever faster but I'm happy with 2/3 at most.

wow... sounds promising for the new wheels, Energizerrr. I'll be curious to find out my own settings when the time comes.

I have both the G27 and the CSR.

If you would like me to make a video of drifting with both wheels I would be happy to compare them, I'm halfway through doing my full comparison on both the CSR and the G27.

When drifting with the G27, I have noticed that it is quite slow after playing with the CSR for some time. The responsiveness and preciseness of the CSR is something that you get used to, and after plugging the G27 back in, the wheel feels smaller and playing Gran Turismo feels unnatural.

The ability to change the sensitivity instantly makes the wheel far superior than the G27.

Awesome, that's just the feedback I was looking for. I guess I'll go ahead and order it tonight. Thanks!

Awesome, guess I'm helping with the sales... just kidding.

But seriously, you will not be disappointed.

Honda in your comparison try to do some time trials to see how in real world racing the better feeling wheel adds to performance or is that all just a myth or in peoples head. 💡

Who said anything about budget? I want a wheel that works with the 360 and PS3.

You better wait a bit, since the CSR Elite will be out soon. My best bet is end of the month. Before Christmas at least. Some people are testing the latest units that got the purdy box soon I reckon. within the next two weeks that is. So if you can wait and money is no issue, I'd say wait.

Dahng. I was seriously considering it, but I didn't want to wait. The shifter on my G25 barely works (I got kicked from a room last night on GT5 because my shifter kept going from 2nd to neutral for no reason, and I was holding everyone up). If I thought it would be out in a month or less, I would have waited.

Honestly, I'm not that worried about it. The Fanatecs look like they hold their value pretty well, and when the CSR-E comes out, I may sell the CSR and upgrade.

The wheels only hold their value if you can sell them, no store (either a game shop or second hand electronic store) will touch them. Been thinking about selling my Carrera wheel to help pay for a CSR, but would need to keep the shifter and pedals as I can't really afford any of it!

(Mr Burns from the simpsons says...) "eeexcellent Smithers, as soon as the CSW comes out, used CSR's will be falling from the sky, right into our hands bwwwaaaaahhhaaahhaaa!"
