I have a couple of questions regarding the CSR Pedals.

The brake pedal is a bit too stiff for my liking and i was curious if there was a way to adjust this without having to buy the tuning kit?

I have all sorts of tools downstairs, but was wondering if i could possibly adjust it using my own tools.

I also noticed different notches in the arm of the brake pedal(if that makes sense)where the bolt is.If i can adjust it using my own tools, do i go up or down a notch to reduce the stiffness?

Thanks in advance.

*edit* I just found some stuff out about the pedals and the bots on the side just adjust how far the brakes compress and there are nuts along the springs you adjust to change the stiffness.Funny thing is if i adjust the nuts it just makes the brakes more stiff.Looks like i'll just have to adjust as i'm so used to the logitech pedals.

I have the Elite CSR pedals but what I did is moved the bolt behind the brake down one notch to the lowest setting and it made the brake softer. I am sure this is what you were talking about in your *edit.

Thanks man.

I tried this and the brake has a bit too much travel and was way too soft for me.I like the travel it has now but it's still just a bit too stiff.I fixed my gas pedal and it is perfect now.

Going back to the brake pedal being too stiff,I just wonder if Lowe's sells springs this size, but not as stiff.I thought about that yesterday. If i didn't have to work tonight i would go and check Lowe's right now.

I was on the fence about doing that, but I think I'm going to do it. And once Fanatec sends me a new gas pedal I'm going to move it up a notch to make it stiffer.

It does make the pedal much more.....controllable. If that makes sense? I do come from the MS and DFGT wheels so maybe I was looking for that softer pedal feel.

I did try to move it ''up'' a notch but the holes wouldn't match up, at least from what I saw.

@StarFirebird, I will be interested to see how your modification pans out, be sure to share your results. And to be clear, you have the standard CSR pedals or Elite?

I have the Standard CSR Pedals.

I'm off Friday so i'm going to Lowe's then.I'll let you know if Lowe's has anything like this.

I have the same concern with the CSR pedals. I'm coming from the Microsoft Wireless Wheel pedals and the tension feels very high to me on the CSR brake pedal as well. It's really hard to get used to. Please let us know if your trip to Lowes turns up a usable spring replacement.

Work has been crazy so i haven't been able to make the trip yet.I'm going Monday(off work)to finish my Christmas shopping.I will go to Lowe's and check to see if they have any springs.

This is of my interests...

I feel there is too much travel in the brake pedal. I am going to move brake pedal up and tighten the spring after typing this. I was too use to the WRW's hair trigger like brake response.

StarfireBird, how did your adjustments turn out?

I moved the arm on the brake pedal all the way up. It feels as if there is only 5cm of travel before the brakes are at full lock. I was able to keep up with my last R2 DTM ghost that I made using the WRW. Not bad... The spring also feels stiffer but this feels much better than the large amount of pedal effort I needed before I made the adjustment. I may take the brake pedal down one hole... It depends on how some multiplayer goes.

Bump, today i tweaked my CSR pedal set and moved the brake closer to the throttle pedal, so i could eventually learn to heel and toe properly.

I was jerking around with the screws on the little springs behind the pedals, but i didn't notice much difference in pedal travel. Also from what i picked up here you can adjust the little arms above those springs too?

If some folk with CSR pedals could enlighten me on their purpose, and how you tweaked the pedals yourselves:
