Hey all.

I updated the CSR to the latest firmware this morning and reset all the presets and re calibrated the wheel. Now I started Forza 4 and the wheel was stuck on 270*. I changed the preset 5_1's sensitivity to 900 and ABS to 0 and reboot the wheel and there was still not affect. it was still on 270* when my wheel shows 900.

I decided to go ahead and try GT5 which is also doing the exact same thing. The wheel is set on 900* but the game only lets me use 270*. Prior to updating I could use 900* in BOTH FM4 and GT5.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

That's why it's not working....you can't use 721 on a CSR.......you need 706.

721 is for the CSR Elite only.

You need to reflash it with 706.

Send me a PM with your email and I'll send it to you.

Yeah I just realized that....lol dumb mistake on my part. I just reflashed it with 706 and it's working now, thanks everyone!

Hi,
Has anyone had this problem,I updated to the new 721 firmware for my CSR Elite wheel and everything went smoothly until I got to the re-center the wheel part.It seems centered until i go into the control panel and check it,its more to the left now.The manual said put it into pc mode and hold the bottom 2 red buttons but doesnt say how long to hold them and no lights come on to indicate that its re centered the wheel.I tried uninstalling the drivers and starting all over but still hangs to the left.Anyone have the same problem?

Reboot the wheel and put it in Pc mode (hold down left arrow button for about 5 seconds)

Visually center the wheel

Press and hold both lower red buttons at the same time for about 5 seconds and the wheel should now be calibrated with the new center reference.

Thanks for the help but still hangs to the left-140 with 900 degrees of rotation.Strange how the wheel is now centered but in the control panel its way off to the left.

I have tried numerous times to uninstall the drivers and start over from scratch but I hink the 721 firmware never really fully uninstall, probaly deep in the registry somewhere.I cant believe we spend 800.00 for this wheel and pedals and they can"t even come up with a decent driver installer like logitech has.So frustrating, should have never tried this beta update.

I had the same problem, I used a different USB port on my computer and reflashed it and it worked fine.

tried every usb port on my pc,thanks for the tip though.still hangs to the left, wheel turns equal amount left and right while just turning it in my hands but when I check it in the control panel its off to the left by alot and if I drive it in RF2 I have to turn alot more to the left than I do to the right.Cant figure this out, Has anyone ever got a refund for this wheel,530.00 bucks and cant use it and its only 2 weeks old.

I had mine all boxed up and ready to ship back to Fanatec, I would have lost on brokerage fees and shipping. I wanted to send it back because of the toy rim that is on the Elite. However my Son talked me into keeping it and wait and see what Fanatec has to offer.

Failing anything decent from Fanatec I will use a Derek Speare adapter and mount my own rim on. I don't know what to tell you Scott other then contact Fanatec's customer service and see if they can fix it, good luck.

Go back and try flashing it with 715.

You can get it here:

http://www.911wheel.de/files/faq_pics/FanatecFwUpdateBETA_CSRE_715.zip

You can use the new bootloader that came with 721 as its much better than the old one....just be sure to use the 715 PW files. I'd also try to use a different USB port when you flash it or another PC if possible.

If you are successful at flashing it with 715 and you still get the positional error my guess would be the axis sensor is not reading correctly for whatever reason and you'll need to get in touch with Fanatec support to have the wheel swapped for a new one or avrefund if you choose that path.

Thanks for the help, tried reflashing like you said with the 715 firmware and tried all of my usb ports but still is off to the left by alot.I contacted Fanatec so hopefully they will fix it for me.I really like this wheel so hopefully they will come up with a solution.

I cant get anyone from Fanatec to respond to answer my emails about either fixing this wheel or replacing it.Anyone have any luck getting ahold of these guys. Also the file that contains my order information is encrypted and Ive tried every program I have to be able to read the file but nothing seems to work, does anyone know which program can open this file.

thanks again,

I dont know...I could be wrong but I'm starting to suspect something is wrong with your PC. The email link I sent you for support responds to my inquiries the same day. Im wondering if you could have some virus on your PC that might be attaching itself to your emails which wouldthen get dumped by Fanatec's junk filter. Secondly.....every order receipt for all my Fanatec orders were never encrypted......all were plain jane PDF files that opened with Adobe reader.

Have you tried your wheel on a console at all to see if it plays off center on that?

Figured I post this here as well.

Hello everyone. Today was the first day I tried to play with the Fanatec CSR Elite after an incident earlier this week posted here. Today, everything seemed fine, except the wheel didn't feel as smooth, nor was it as fast. When I tried to take a turn, the FFB came in, and the wheel shut itself off. When i tried to turn it back on, it took two or three tries before it would calibrate. I decided to slightly turn, when I did this there was major cogging. Currently I'm not sure what I should do. Since my wheel is a Beta unit would I still be able to send it into Fanatec to get it repaired?

EDIT: I fear I have found the issue. When the wheel overheated, it burned out one of the FFB motors. The reason I say this is because of a test I just did. I set the Force Feedback to 10, I felt like one of the motors wasn't being used, yet it didn't turn itself off. Same thing with 20, 30, and 40. When I got to 50, I felt smoothness, more power, and speed. It felt like both motors were working now, however, the wheel turned itself off once. I managed to turn it back on, but when I switched to 60, it turned off, and now I can't turn it back on. This to me, indicates that one of the FBB motors, (I think the bottom one, as it's warm down towards the bottom) has overheated, so when it's supposed to kick in, the wheel turns itself off as a fail safe. Either that or it's failed completely.

You had my hopes up with the possible virus screwing up my wheel but everything checks out clean and I have a alot of maleware cleaners and 1 good antivirus program. You did help with that encryted file though,it was my adobe reader not installed for some reason so all is good there.I"ll try and email them again and see if they respond, thanks again for all the help.
