We have our Steering Wheels and our cockpits for racing simulators but how about an Assault Rifle (M16) while playing FPS on the PS3? It looks like it would take some practice getting used to controls. I honestly don't see this giving you any type of advantage other than making your arms tired from holding it up?

Here is a link for some more info:

If they had done something like the Gun Con in Time Crisis 4 using the sensors for aiming I think it would be a different experience.

It looks cool, but as X-Power said it is just a Dualshock. It does not seem like you can actually point the rifle to aim in game so it seems like a very uncomfortable and complicated controller. If we could aim with it I think it would be cooler but still might be a bit complicated to move and stuff.

We need VR for this stuff :)! Matrix!

I think around Call of Duty 4 was out, I was wanting a first person shooter that used a controller like this, except you actually aimed at the screen using the rifle. I still think that would be really awesome, if they can do it right. This controller might be half way there.

I think this is more like what people are after (in terms of fuction anyway)

An assault rifle version like the CTA would be interesting, but i still think it'd be a novelty as it's not easy to sit back in a sofa and play.

What - a - load -of - RUBBISH. I remember the days of megadrive gaming where my bedroom was cluttered up with daft pheripherals like this - remember Sega's Menacer light gun? I was young and misguided back then. We do not need novelty items like this on PS3, or indeed 360. Leave it for the fun, family, party console like the Wii.

LAME

You can´t even aim with it. What´s the purpose?? Looking like a dork??
The pistol is better but i would rather use the move or buy the docking station to use keyboard and mouse.
If i want a piece of plastic looking like a gun i buy a bb gun...

The only gun pheripheral I remember as being any good was the Virtua Cop one on the Saturn, it was exactly like the arcade. Partly because it was the only decent light gun game ever made. Virtua Cop 2 on 2 player with my mates was a right laugh. Namco's Time Crisis didn't even come close.
