Looking to upgrade from my Driving force GT to a better model. I know theres a few on the market, Fanatec ones (including the new CSR models) and thrustmaster. Whats the best one for value? My research suggests that its the Fanatec GT3 v2 with clubsport pedels and their shifters. Thrustmaster is just way too expensive and not much better (if any better). Not so great reviews of the Fanatec CSR wheels...am I correct? Your thoughts?

Is there any new wheels coming up that I should look out for? How old is the Fanatec GT3 v2 model?

I went from the DFGT to the Logitech G27. I love it, although you do lose the sequential shifter which I miss sometimes. I got it for $240 with Logitech's trade in system.

But i heard fanatec compatability is better with Gt5. Doesn't G27 not "exist" in the world of GT5?

I have the GT3 RS V2 with Clubsport pedals and regular H-shifter. Only complaint is the shifter is not up to par with the quality on the wheel and pedals but they're coming out with a Clubsport shifter so no worries there. Best part about this wheel is you have several memory options (Ex: 1 for road racing, 2 for drifting, 3 for rally.. and so on) and you can adjust every setting on the wheel in game during a race. This beats having to wait through loading screens to make an adjustment. Every button is mappable too (using the Driving Force Pro menue if I remember correctly). If I hadn't purchased this wheel I'd be looking at their newer wheels (CSR, Clubsport, whatever they're called) but for the price, this was definitely a good buy.

Why dont you try in the driving wheel section, im sure you will get more answers.

the wheel with the best pedals is the fanatacs with the club sport pedals but there a lot more money.

I think you have to consider the wheel/cockpit combination.

We have 2 setups: A DFGT on a Playseat, and a G27 on a Hotseat Chassis.

Both are comfortable places to play driving games, but I prefer the G27 setup because the TV/Monitor is at a better height/distance and the seat is more comfortable.

PS. The G27 does work with GT5, but you miss out on some of the button mapping. But, the paddle shifters and pedals are superior to the DFGT.
