A couple of my recent videos with notes accompanying each videos:

Cusco Dunlop Subaru Impreza (GT300) @ Nurburgring VLN course

[YOUTUBEHD]2axYsIwvjjQ[/YOUTUBEHD]

"Subaru Impreza GT300 (2008) on the 4 hour VLN (Nurburgring) course. No upgrade to the race car. R1 (Race Hard) tires.

The Subaru is one of the two AWD race cars in the GT300 class of the Japanese Super GT series (Lamborghini Gallardo being the other 4WD car).. Polyphony did an awesome job with this car as they did with all the Super GT cars in GT5. The sense of weight and weight transfer is what one would expect from a race car- low centre of gravity with a defined sense of weight distribution.

Recorded using my Lumix digicam with the audio coming straight off the TV speakers so the sound isn't the best. On my headphone, the sound from this car along with almost all the race cars are top notch."

Peugeot 908 HDi FAP @ La Sarthe

"Peugeot 908 with Racing Hard using G25 wheel. All aids OFF including ABS (brakes set to 4:2). Fastest lap around 3min37sec. I can probably get into the high 3:20s with Racing Medium. The car feels fantastic with the G25. Of course, I would love to try this with a Frex Type G or even the T500RS."

Nissan R35 GTR (Super GT500 class) @ Suzuka

[YOUTUBEHD]ncT1guZ9rrM?hd=1[/YOUTUBEHD]

"The 500hp GT500 Nissan R35 GTR (with the 2008 regulation) lapping Suzuka. Equipped with Race Hard (RH) I managed a time of 2:02 which is much slower than the 2008 qualifying time for this Motul Autech GTR (Super Lap time: 1:51.163, Michael Krumm), one of the two Nismo Works cars that competed in the 2008 season, the other one being the Xanavi Nismo team. I'm quite sure with Racing Medium, I should be able to get under 2:00.

The rest of the setting are pretty close to the default setup (of course the car's unmodified) although I did lower the ride height and adjust the LSD as well as the downforce. No aids were used including ABS (which isn't allowed in Super GT) but I reduced and adjusted the brake ratio to 4:2 (which is my default setting for the more recent GT race cars)."

More videos to come including two with Mazda 787B @ Circuit de la Sarthe (2005) and Suzuka and a side by side comparison between the recent record breaking Corvette ZR1 @ Nurburgring and my attempt at equalling it.

Mazda 787B @ Circuit de la Sarthe (2005)

[YOUTUBEHD]Ncp3OVCkGRw?hd=1[/YOUTUBEHD]

"Driving the legendary Wankel rotary powered 787B on the older 2005 configuration Circuit de la Sarthe. With Racing Hard (RH), my times were in the low 3:30 (although this video showed a much slower 3:37 lap). A sub 3:30 might be possible with medium slick.

Settings are close to default setup in most cases although I lowered the ride height, played around with the limited slip differential and increase the downforce ever so slightly. No driving aids were used and that included turning OFF ABS. The brake bias/sensitivity is at my normal 4:2."

GT5 Sarthe Reality Check

[YOUTUBEHD]nuSC90iKW6o?hd=1[/YOUTUBEHD]

The real life video is probably taken from a 2007/2008 Le Man instead of 2009/2010 which the GT5 track was based on- the most obvious sign is the row of trees at Tertre Rouge (those unfamiliar- the fast corner going into the first straight). In 2007/2008 these Poplar trees were leafless but grew back up in 2009 race. Pretty amazing job.
