Hey peoples,

I went to the D1GP-USA at Irwindale Speedway. It was so cool. The little 16 Y/O guy(forgot his name) kept spinning out, but atleast he tried. :D Also in the final run of the Finals the red silvia got beat out by the AE86. The silvia and the 86 took dammage. The 86 had a broken front bumper, and the silvia took damage to the front right fender and the rear quarter when it slammed into the wall in turn 2 after the roadcone. I can't remember the drivers name at the moment though. So yeah, an old 86 beat them all out and won a whopping $2000 and the trophy for the 1st D1 Grand Prix USA. Sorry about picture resolution..... I needed to make the pics upload fast...

Oh also, I want to say Hi to my woman Liz (quote on quote shout out) because she is falling asleep...

give it a few more hours and coverage will be all over.

And about that 16 year old kid, people that I know that went to the driver search or participated in it, gave the kid mad props he was hella good then. Apparently he has been driving for a while.
 
What about that crazy RX7 crash? man that looked like it hurt. Wonder if anyone got any pics of that crash. BTW i got loads of pics but ran out of film halfway... grrr... If someone has a place to upload pics, I'll be happy to share...

yeah. D1GP was awesome but it was really hot:mad:. i took a bunch of pics but mostly of the carshow. i was a little high up in the stands during the competition to get any real good pics of the drift cars, but i took a few short video clips of the drift action though. then i ran out of batteries at 9pm :banghead:

i got a clip of Keiichi when he borrowed that guys blue S15

and a clip of the Signal Auto twins doing donuts around each other.

OH and a short clip of Ken Nomura's R34 drifting

but yeah, it was pretty awesome. a few of the cars took some damage (like that red FD that almost jumped the concrete barrier and killed some people). and that 16 year old kid did pretty good, he did spin a couple of times though. the best American driver there was probably that Ernie guy in the Rotora 240 (??) forgot what car he was driving. he put up a good fight against Yoichi Imamura (white APEXi FD)

i'll try to put up some pics when i have time :)
 
Yeah D1 was sweet.
I was right in front (About 6 feet) from where the Red S15 hit the barrier in the final round.(Was kinda scary).
I also got a pic with and an autograph with Keiichi.

At the end i reached over into the track and nabbed a shard of someones tail/head light. Hehe

Gotta go again!!
 
damn you guys are lucky b/c I've never been to a drift
event and I live in NC.well I hope everything went well
can you guys post some Japanese clips from D1!??!

i am so 🤬 mad b/c i live here.but we have
tons,tons,tons AND TONS!!! of touge that should be a place
for a comp. 💡

yo i was RIGHT IN front Taniguchi when he crashed...everyone around me went back cuz it was CRAZY!!! yo D1 was off tha hook... it was PACKED... SOLD OUT ... i'm gonna get the video when it comes out cuz I HAVE TO BE IN IT!!!... Hopefully D1 will come back again...i wouldn't miss it for the world....
 
oh man...d1gp was great. i got there around 11 30, the lines for tickets were already hella hella long (even the preorder ticket line), i stood in line for about 2 and half hours, got sunburned like CRAZY...i swear im like glowing red even now 1 day after the event, but oh man it was well worth it. i shot about 2 and a half hours worth of drifting video, all from the trackside seats in the grandstand. i got some good shots, i just need a tv-in to hook the camera up to the comp so i can upload it!!!

but i do have 2 120minute 8mm tapes full of d1gp footage, and im putting them on VHS tomorrow, cant wait to watch them on my big tv =DDDD

it was well worth the long wait, dehydration, bad headache, 3 and a half hour round trip drive, bright red sunburn, money, and the film/battery for camera, and id go again in 2 seconds =DDDDD

im ashamed at koguchi for not winning, hes always been my favorite =[

yeah that 16 year old kid was pretty good, i give him mad props for that, and that ernie guy was in the 240sx fastback with S15 front end i think. he went pretty crazy with imamura.

you know wut sucks for taniguchi? if they had not gone again at the end when he slammed into the wall, taniguchi would have won. that sucks =[

hahaha the american RX7 that slammed into the wall, that was so crazy ****. he hit it all hard and almost flew up and over it, i thought he was gonna go flying into the crowd.

hahaha i just need someone to give me the upload space to upload it, and i need a tv-in to get it to my comp in the first place =\
