Here are some pics that I took at D1GP... sorry about the quality on the action shots... I had to sneak in... so no trackside wrist band... so I had to use full zoom on all the action shots.
=)

Also... there are a few shots of Bulletproof Automotives car's in there as well... including my friend Jason (digitalroo.com)/(buletproofautomotive.com) bad ass Celica Alltrac in full Rally Spec.

Thanx... sorry there werent too many action shots, I didn't really shoot too many action pics... but I did take like 7-8 movies that I am currently trying to upload.

Very awesome pictures. I actually enjoyed the shots of the drivers. Its nice to see people taking pictures of them, and not the cars all the time..

Thanx, I also talked (or tried to) to a lot of the drivers, and they were all pretty much cool except for Ken Nomura (Nomuken)... I've never liked him, I don't understand why he dislikes americans so much?! But yeah, I actually had a conversation with
Tatsuhiro Ueo (Revolver Sports Garage Sift AE86), before the last round against Nobuteru Taniguchi, and he gave me some tips on how to stiffen the chassis on my AE86. VERY cool guy, and one of the very few Japanese drivers who know's basic english. I will try to upload some of the movies I took onto Imagestation, including Ueo vs. Taniguchi (Taniguchi crashes)

Yeah those action pics were hard to take cuz first off those little cars haul some major as s!! Second, my crappy $1200.00 camera likes to lag on me when I need it to snap shots quickly! damn Sony! Anyhow, thanx for all the compliments, as soon as I have time to upload, I will post up some of the movies I took as well.
Thanx

I agree, or better yet, lets have a D1GP event IN MICHIGAN. The only good thing about michigan is SNO*Drift and the LSPR (both of which I hope to go to this year, already went to LSPR).

For those of you who dont know, SNO*Drift and LSPR are Rally races put on by the SCCA.

but michigan still sucks for drifting

Toocool... hit up my buddy J Woo...
www.ProjectAspec.com

He coordinates drifting events in MI. So it's getting better in Michigan, but I do agree that states outside California are a bit behind, but no biggy... at least you guys can still get spots in drift events... try competing with thousands of "drifters" for a spot in a drifting class/event.

Dude, it sucks that Taniguchi lost though. The fact that he lost against a underpowered AE86 only makes it more embarrasing. Dorifto, did you get to meet Taniguchi?

BTW, here's a pic of the crash damage:(

I hate you so much, power does not have anything to do with it unless you want to powerslide at the end of the corner but thats not drifting.... some people have no clues..

First of all, Taniguchi's S15 only has about 430 HP, which would hardly equate to powersliding his way through corners. Second, Yoshinori Koguchi has a 180SX with about 340 HP, and nobody calls his drift technique "powersliding". But when you take a 180 HP Corolla and beat a 430 HP fully tuned S15 Silvia like its nothing, it kind of bugs me.

Oh BTW, in drift COMPETITIONS, the idea is to pass your opponent in a drift; more power=better exit speed=a pass. And how do I not have any "clues"? Just some advice, go over your post before you submit it.

Just to piss you off, im gonna include a pic of Taniguchi himself, because he is badass

Sorry to say this, but your wrong. In official japaneese drift competition (not gymkhana) drifting isn't based on passing anyone. Drifting is scored by a panel of 3 judges on various attributes such as style, line etc. Passing one another has nothing to do with the scoring other than the fact that it is showing off, but it is usually pretty obvious who won without needing to pass.

Gymkhana on the other hand is autocross, but a wierd version. Gymkhana is where they have a course with very few cones setup, and a semi-confusing layout so that it is difficult to maneuver. Many autocrossers will drift in gymkhana, but this is not official drifting.

That is true, I checked my sources and I found that it is indeed Gymkhana. Good work on figuring that out. But it pisses me off that people think a drift car has to be very light and low on power to be truly effective. I think that Ueno and Nomuken are excellent drifters who display immense skill considering the types of cars they drive. Maybe its just my non-conformist nature that lends to my opinion.
