I know GTA 1, 2 and 3 are all set in America so I was just wondering if the cars are actually real-life cars, cos I wouldnt mind havin one of those banshees, or maybe one of those suped up Rumpo XL's.

I think those cars are just made up cuz it would take too much to get licensing or whatever to get real life cars in the game.

When i was playing in the first island got a cop car and did vigalante and was chasing a cool car...it's one you cant get normally, i forget the name but it had very skinny headlights and a mid-engine. (dark blue) Anywho i got it and saved it in my garage.

I like the FBI cars. Everytime I get one, an agent gets in the back!!!!!! My favorite is the Banshee though.

they are based on cars - but not on official plans. There are no licences involved. THe obvious ones are : Sentinal BMW 5-series, Cheetah - Ferrari Testarossa.

Some cars are based on real cars.....The Rumpo on the older model Dodge Ram (Van), the Cheetah on a Ferrari Testarossa, and the Moonbeam on the GMC Savana.

The best car in the game is obviously the Sentinal because you can do MEAN slides in that car around corners via the handbrake. I would pick the Infernus or Cheetah, but both get a little funky at the handling limits. I don't like the Landstalker because it flips too much, but it looks nice. The Stallions don't handle rain like real cars would have to because you can't go around a corner with them...
