Well not quite, he's just looking at it for the time being. Not sure if he's going to get it. And don't know anything about it apart from a little what it looks like:

It's a 95ish Mustang is it not? A bit different from the 60's Mustang he was looking at when in NZ.

Oh yeah, he was cruising around San Francisco today and took these shots (among others).

I think all that San Andreas playing (he got really addicted to it) made him want to go to see the real thing. ;)

My sister has a 98 mustang, and they're pretty decent, although the V6 power is a bit lacking. Looks good though!

How's your dad supposed to get that thing back to NZ if he gets it; drive it across the Pacific? ;) :p Anyway, nice shots of the SF Bay!

It's a '96, I believe.

It's a 1994. California plates are a determinant for vehicle age; vehicles with original "black plates", those issued between 1963 and 1969, can add about 20-30% to a purchase price. If you read current ads of cars from the sixties, many sellers will say "black plate car" so possible buyers know it's an original California car with original plates.

A rough guide:

Black plates
Lic_plate_350.jpg

A through O = 1962 (plates start with AAA-OAA; issued in 1962)
O, P, Q, R = 1963
R, S = 1964
S, T, U = 1965
U, V, W = 1966
W, X, Y = 1967
Y, Z = 1968 and some 1969

Blue plates

A, some B = some 1969 and some 1970
B, C, D = 1970
D, E, F = 1971
F, G, H, J = 1972
J, K, L = 1973
K, L, M, N = 1974
O, P, R = 1975
R, S, T = 1976
T, U, V = 1977
V, W, X = 1978
X, Y, Z = 1979 and some 1980

He's living over there now mate. :p Well for three months until his Visa runs out, then he'll come back here and if he liked it he'll go back over for a few years.

Working as a Paramedic in Santa Rosa (then later on in Vegas, Housten etc etc...).

1994 model ay? :) I could sort of tell it wasn't the 97/98 model as it seems 'flatter' (only way i can tell them apart).

Apparently he went and looked at it yesterday - it is a 5.0l V8 and sounds pretty good. :)

Your dad should buy the car if he has the $$$$$. ;) OT for a min: My dad got a 2001 Daewoo Lanos S Sedan w/ a 5 spd yesterday. Now before everyone says it's a POS, the car runs excellent.

you mean you guys hang onto your licence plates for forty years??
they made us throw ours away not to long ago...people had yellow plates on their cars for up to 25 years, and all the reflection had chipped off. when I started driving, we had flipped over to 7 character yellow on blue it ran from the a's to the c's, and suddenly the state decided to change the design to include the state website, thus banning licence plate frames graduated yellow and blue top and bottom over white with blue letters.. now, it seems, they've gotten rid of the graduation, and switched to solid yellow and blue bands, starting with the G plates.

pics of the golden gate...keep expecting to Leo standing on top, trying to tell piper there's another problem :P

Well he's not getting this 'Stang anymore as the owner was twice a no-show whenever Dad kept driving over to see it (200 miles of driving for nothing).

So now he is looking at a plain old green one with a tan roof.

There is lots of Mustangs around he shouldnt have to drive 200miles anyway to find one. I would be wild if the guy no showed twice.

The website changed too, you know. It's visitPA.com now, as opposed to state.pa.us like in the past.
