The box car manufacturer actually made (well, hopes to make) something that looks half-decent.

Mini VW Beetle/Audi TT...

Wow, The Daihatsu Cowpen. (I mean, Copen....like Copenhagen?)

Any chance that it has over 100hp and isn't front-wheel drive? Probably not.

Surprise! It even has a turbo! But the engine is only a 660cc 3-cylindre. :(
It is indeed front-wheel drive and it looks horrible when the roof is up! But with the roof down it looks kinda funny and it's actually quite beautiful.

Completely rips off the TT and Beetle if you ask me... :teleport:
but hey IMO its good looking. 3 cylinder turbo :thatsodd: ? how much power could it possibly have?

Speedycars.net?

If driessie is correct, it has 0.6 litres. How speedy is that?

Not very. Daihatsu was actually quoted as saying it was "TT inspired". Yah. As in "copied from the blueprints, then scaled to 60%". It's cute to look at, and from what I hear it's a good drive. Not as sharp as the Smart Roadster (which I want!), but close enough for a Korean manufacturer.

For man who wants a TT that can fit in the trunk of his real car....

You must admit though, it looks good...for a Daihatsu.

just another pus box on the road.

pretty damn ugly.

Better than the new Mini rip-off Daihatsu Sirion.

Taken from an official Daihatsu site
The DOHC, 16-valve beast makes 47kW @ 6000rpm, with 110Nm of torque @ 3200rpm, making for a wide spread of power.
'Propaganda' can sound so good. BTW 47 KW is about 64 bhp.
And I think 'beast' is not exactly the right word, allthough the weight will be pretty low, accelleration will not be it's best thing.

Speaking of stealing, check out the tail lights on that Smart Roadster. I think Mazda should be preparing its lawsuit right now. :)

I know. :D But I still want that Smart, despite the specs. I mean, who does RR cars in that segment? And it handles well, too!

if the front grille was a bit shorter and it had about 200hp and was rwd that would have to be an amzingly responsive car to drive, like a cat.
