Daily Payments?

I got this idea after checking the used car lot and seeing the Formula GT but being 200k short I went to finish a couple races came back and it was gone. So I thought wouldn't it be nice if we could buy cars in payments like for example if you buy a $1mill car everyday you played GT5 you would have to make a payment of 100K or 200K.

What do you guys think?

Well I guess it could be layaway and if you didn't make payments you forfeit what you already paid. Although that would suck if your power went out or your PS3 broke and cost you thousands of Cr.

It would be better if the limit was something like 50% of every race you win is automatically applied to the car you are trying to buy until it's paid off, then you get the car (obviously with the opportunity to pay more towards the car anytime you can afford to).

Hmm...perfectly reasonable idea, and I like it.

But, I'd add in:
Time of payment-5:00? 6:00? You choose, and if you don't have the money by then...your docked X amount of money (like debt. Can't buy anything if you have debt.) You can choose to auto pay or pay it yourself.
Ammount/payment-100k? 200k? Also, money down-20k for start? 50k? 500k?
Maybe something to do with levels?-if you start paying for the car early, can't use it till the indicated level to drive it?

Seems like a nice idea. Definitely would remove that frustration of "OMFGHDBFJJEDBJ....FGT JUSTIN DEALER (pun intended), CAN'T BUY IT WTFHBBQ!!!" moments.

Seems a good idea, each repayment could take place after every 5 or 10 races and interest would have to be charged of course, say 10% of the cars value for letting you pay it in installments, so a 1m cr car is now 1.1m

Why do you want a finance game? I like how it is. You have to be patient to get the cars you really want. Getting my F10 took quite a bit of patience.

You can always buy things when you have debt. That's why we have credit cards. Any outstanding balance on a credit card is technically debt and you can still buy stuff even when you are in debt.

Credit cards are not so you can buy stuff when you owe other people money. Doing that when in debt is a great way to find out who your local repo men are & destroy your credit.

Even if you owe the card company $5, that's debt. I wasn't talking about owing people money (other than the card company.).
I know what the main principle of a credit card is, as well. I'm just trying to tell people that it is still possible to buy things even when in debt, but normally only if it's small debt and not large debt. (small being in the range of roughly $0.01 to $1,000)(large being in the range of $5,000 or more.)

I should have clarified earlier, but i do agree that financing should stay in the real world.

Perhaps a better way is to put a down payment to hold the car until you have enough money. If you want realism, you can put some time limit (1 month or so) on the hold. That gets rid of potential problems like what to do if payments are not made. Same can be done if you don't have the required level. You pay the dealer, but can't possess it until you are at the right level.

However, this is only a band-aid to a broken system. Level locking and random appearances are utterly broken (IMO of course)

--instead of a set TIME to pay the debt,to make it more "game-like" why not just have set to require a payment every "x" amount of days(something customizable of course),if your save hasn't been loaded the day of payment then its required next time you play you pay(that rhymed) and if you have not payed by the time the day you loaded your save runs out runs out,the next time the game loads your save you lose all money you already payed..

The repo guy would come and get the car and you loose all your earlier payments just like real life.

It's not patience, that's called grinding. Patience would be working your way up the ladder in A-spec mode, earning decent money for wins and being able to sell your unwanted prize cars for extra cash. The whole games car buying system is broken as well as the laughable prize money and crap prize cars you get.

You were only 200K short and you let it disappear!
Why didn't you just sell some cars? That gets you the money you need and doesn't advance the days and refresh the used lot.
I've done this before to get a car I really wanted.
Then I went back once I had the credits and they became available to pick up the cars I had sold.
Sure, you lose some money on the transactions, but it is sometimes worth it to snag a rare car before it disappears and you have to wait 100 cycles for it to come back.

And this buying when you don't have enough money thing is totally ridiculous to be in a game. Being able to take a loan should not be thought of as a necessity. That's the type of thinking common place in this day and age that gets people into debt.

U SHOULDA WENT TO UR GARAGE AND SOLD SOME CARS since most cars can be easily replaced.... FGT takes a while...
