Note - The tracking continues here starting with 7/8/2022's ticket.

I haven't really been tracking the roulettes on my GTP account, but I have been on my Plus account, where I started on 4/20 to take advantage of the pre-order bonus, the extra 1 million credits for the 1.08/1.09 lockdown and the auto-invites for those disappearing early. Let's see if we can find a pattern:

Of the 90 tickets (18 1-star/4 guaranteed via the cafe, 11 2-star/2 guaranteed, 23 3-star/4 guaranteed, 29 4-star/7 guaranted, 2 5-star/none guaranteed and 7 6-star/4 guaranteed) on the Plus account as of 7/7/2022 (no jubilee here):
  • 62 have been the low-cash prize (when at least 2 cash prizes were available)
  • 4 have been the 2nd-smallest cash prize (when at least 3 cash prizes were available)
  • 2 have been the 3rd-smallest cash prize (when at least 4 cash prizes were available)
  • 3 have been the big-cash prize
  • 5 have been for cars
  • 5 have been for common parts (including 2 completely worthless parts for which better versions can be bought)
  • 2 have been for special parts
  • 2 have been for engines (including 1 guaranteed)
  • 5 have been for invites (3 extending active invites)
Of the 71 cash prizes:
  • 6 have been for 2,000 Cr.
  • 23 have been for 5,000 Cr.
  • 23 have been for 10,000 Cr.
  • 9 have been for 30,000 Cr.
  • 5 have been for 100,000 Cr. (including one on a 1-star ticket and one on a 3-star ticket)
  • 2 have been for 500,000 Cr.
  • 3 have been for 1,000,000 Cr.

Been saving my roulette tickets when they're the lowest pay-out on the wheel in hope they get better with the next update - am I wasting my time/hope or is this worth doing?

I've been keeping the ones where I've won a part/car/decent cash.

14/06/22 - 5* - Bugatti Invite (my first 5* ticket from a daily workout, ANNOYINGLY the invitation was for Bugatti which I've already bought with a previous invitation. WORTHLESS!) :(

It seems from what I've heard that the result of your ticket is inherent in your ticket when you get it, and as such the roulette is just a pointless show. So delaying the roulette won't change the prize in your ticket.

I read somewhere that when new content is added the roulette tickets can update with new content so you can end up with better (or worse) prizes. Although I may have misinterpreted that. @Famine what was the gist there?

Main:- 1Star = 5000 Credits
GTP: 3Star = 5000 Credits
US:- 4Star = 10000 Credits
Aussie:- 2Star = 5000 Credits

If it works how I think it works, then an update which adds new content (cars, engines, parts; possibly other updates if they do quiet background things) should change what the rewards behind the tickets are.

The basic idea is that the ticket has a number in it, not a reward. You redeem the ticket, the game looks up the number (on a giant list of numbers, each of which has a reward attached to it, some of which are cars), and it returns the reward corresponding to that number.

If an update comes which inserts new rewards in the list (like... new cars, or different replacement engines... but in principle anything else; there's nothing to say PD can't change the frequency and value of the credit prizes), the list order changes. Now when the game looks up the number, it returns a different reward.

Of course you have no way of knowing if the reward will be better or worse, so the best course of action is to accept any reward that isn't mince and save up all the lowest-credit rewards (and anything useless to you, like Invites) and only redeem those after an update. Chances are 90% will remain lowest-credit rewards.

Thanks for clearing that up, that's what I thought I had read, but in much clearer detail!

What do you base this knowledge on? Is it an educated guess or insider knowledge?

I ask as a lot of people have differing theories on how the roulette works, but this is the first time I've read a theory that the ticket is assigned a number which correlates to a "prize slot", and that the prize in that slot can change after content updates/additions.

Is it an educated guess
Pretty much. Basically it behaves identically to GT Sport's roulette, which itself appeared to be repurposed GT5 Used Car Dealership code.

We don't truly know how it operates (nor did we ever really know how GT Sport's roulette did), but it's a robust explanation for what we see.
