Some of the aftermath.
Things like these are the reason many people hate the rally here. The desert stages are in the north-west of the country, but the race travels from the east through some of the most important argentine cities and highways to get there. And thats where accidents happen, with tired and hurried drivers that don't respect any trafic law behind the wheel of raid trucks. I love the competiton, I go to see it every year, but making it "start" and "finish" in the two most populated cities of the country, where the vehicles have to go trough traffic and public is just plain stupid. One of the fatal accidents this year was because a support truck rear ended a car in a highway. Something similar happened two years ago when a truck hit a taxi while crossing a city, causing two deaths.
