Just want to finally confirm -- I understand you can damage your car in races, but what damage will be permanent (kept in the car and remain next race)? What damages are automatically repaired after the race? And how do I repair the permanent ones?

Your chassis will take damage by crashing it.
It will also take damage just by putting lots of miles on it.

You repair it by using GTAuto and clicking the Chassis icon.


The same concept applies for the engine with the exception of using the Engine icon.

After 2.000km my Minolta drives like a old fat trashbarel.

Chassi Repair... no more understeering and great grip.
