It seems that everyone on GTPlanet wants damage, me included and rightly so. It is one of only a couple of things that GT5P lacks in comparision with PC sims. It adds consequence and realism to the driving.
But after reading a few threads and articles on the subject of damage in video games, I'm starting to think it wont happen, or not to the degree we want.
As you probably know, different companies allow different levels of damage(some not at all), with some even going as far as request the car not be able to flip over. If Polyphony can some how get all these companies on board and more importantly on the same terms, in my opinion, it would be a minor miracle. To be blunt, I just can't see it happening, at least not in the way we want.
I want damage to be part of the racing. If you have a minor crash, get in the pits and get back out there, if you have a big crash, might be race over. I remember watching a race on TV were one car "punted" the car in front on a corner. The punter suffered damage to the front of his car, so much so that he had smashed the raidiator and could no longer keep the car cool. I know that may seem over the top, but it would really seperate the wheat from the chaff.
Maybe I'm just being to much of a realist, because I really want this to happen and to the extent that I mentioned above, not just cosmetic. Anyone know of any news or articles that could quell my fears?
