I like KaZaa. What you getting a movie or software?

I don't think that KaZaa is to blame, but the one you are dl from.
If he hasn't got a good connection, you get bad dl speed.

All other internet traffic will slow down because you're taking up most of your available bandwidth with that file transfer. It's neither Kazaa's or the person you're downloading from's fault - the only thing you can blame is your internet connection. :)

Perhaps you should use KaZaa to download Packeteer, which will shape your connection usage for you, and allow you to prioritise traffic by packet type.

Not that I would do or advocate such a thing of course.

100% on the ball Jordan

Just got Kazaa yesterday, and I'm extremely happy with what I'm getting, though it is pretty slow. I'm less than thrilled with my 2.93KB/Sec transfer rate though it's gone as high as 12, but never constantly.

NO the trojan thing was NOT a lie, www.moosoft.com download their trojan checker (Mcafee, Norton DOES NOT DETECT WORMS/TROJANS!) and check your computer. If you have one of the infected versions, it will show up, and you can clean it.

It is wierd. Kazza effects other computers differently. On mine, it does absolutely nothing.(celeron 500) It works well with other progams, except explorer. If I hit any key on the keyboard in explorer, it shuts it down... This is odd. But not life threatening.

On my friends computer (TBIRD 1400) it takes up HUGE blocks of memory, and completely dominates packet usage. We both have shaw, so it shouldn't be much different.

Wow 640x480!

I'll stick with a real DVD.
That's what is 1 to 2Gig, DVD rips.

Since I have an insider, I can get movies that are DVD rips before they are even released.

I know a guy like that, he's probably one of the biggest software pirates in the area! He had Star Wars Episode II long before it was released in theaters, and was selling corporate copies of Windows XP Professional for $10 a piece - about 2 weeks before it was released.

I do none of this illegal stuff

I got KaZaA Lite...it's great. My connection is a 28.8K, and usually on a normal DL from the web runs 2.56KB/S, on KaZaA sometimes it will run upwards of 3.10KB/S, but other times you get a bad link and it will start to go down to .06KB/S lol then the DL time is like 6 hrs...then I have to cancel out of it and find another of the same thing.
