Has anyone else here played GT4 with a dance mat controller? I raced a BMW M3 GTR on LeMans. Was actually kinda fun hopping around trying to keep the car on the track. I 'modified' the game's controls so the dance mat was UP-upshift, DOWN-downshift, steering left and right, X is accelerator and O was the brake. The very weird thing about this, GT4 doesn't recognize the Dance Mat on the controller selection...but what was even weirder was there was no (BACK) button on the mat, O was X, or (FORWARD) and that really confused me. If you have a sister and she has DDR, and you really want to try this, First plug in a normal controller and go to the race screen, remember I said you can't go backwards on the dance mat.
 
At first I wanted to just close this thread.

When I went in and read the first post of the thread I laughed and laughed and laughed.

Can't wait to see this trend take off!

I thought about it before too
but it sounds too stupid to try and I don't wanna broke my legs in green hell
maybe will try it when I get really bored

I think it will be fun if I can use DS2 to control the throttle and brake
my legs control gear shifts and steering
that will be completely opposite to real driving :lol:
 
Yeah I did it all in fun and I thought everyone would get a kick out of it. The hardest part is the steering. Someday I want to master this race dancing..lol and post a video on youtube.

I thought you were gonna close the thread too. Glad you didn't, let's get some feedback in here!!

Can you beat a 1'48.267 at apricot hill in a stock NSX type R '92.
 
Wow i play DDR all the time never thought of this.I will try when i get home though.
 
Good is so much fun to play DDR. Especially when u play flow on extreme and get A.
 
I have to confess that I have tried this before and the results were awful, I was totally unable to control the car at all.

Still it was a good laugh, but I can assure you that a video was not taken, n or will one ever be.

If you can get used to play racing games with keyboard, DDR with GT4 may not be too hard for you ;)
 
ive tried GT4 with one of them dvd remotes too dreadful effect but the best game for dance mats has to be the Athens 2004 olympics game doing the 100m is even more tiring than running a real 100m!
 
I think I pictured doing a downhill skiing type position on the DDR mat when I read the first post.

One of the more random attempts at gt4. I haven't tried that yet, but I have tried racing, laying upside down.
 
I don't understand why you couldn't reverse. My dance mat allows it.
 
Lol cant say ive tried it with a dance mat but try doing it with the guitar pro guitar! Talk about interesting :P
 
Anybody tried with the Buzz controllers? :dopey:

Probably wouldn't work at all, but wouldn't it be cool to whack that big red button for your nitrous boost!

Now there's an interesting idea. Toronado, my sister's mat came with the new supernova game, maybe that's why? I can reverse the CAR but I cannot backtrack in the game to a previous screen.
