I love my Dell Dimension 4400.:) I'm glad I "wasted" all of the $1,200 on it too.:p

It's a good computer, it just doesn't endure well under extreme heat.

Why was your PC in 100 degree temps for over a week? It wasn't actually that hot inside your house, was it? The temp in my room never exceeds 72 degrees. Usually around 68-69. I've only shut my computer down/off one time since I got it, and that was because a really fugging bad storm was happening.

If we were all like MistaX and had 5 huge fans in our computers we'd never have to worry about 'em overheating.:p

I have 5 fans (6 if you count the one on the Ti4600, but counting that one is stupid) and the proc is still at 130+ Degrees F.

Wanna here about my Clunka of a PC?

Well.......

Pentium 3 500mhz......I used to over clock it to 550mhz
256mb Ram from 128mb
32 X 12 X 40 CDRW :D
20.5 Gb Harddrive
240w Speakers
Creative Sound Blaster Live Card
Nvidia TNT2 M64 Video Card (Piece of Junk I might ad!)

It's old but needs a large reformat........I know I guy that had a 486 and got all these spare bits of Ram and gave the 486 64mb RAM - What a waste!

Believe me, it was 102 and humid on the coldest day that week, and i had forgotten to close the windows the night b4 so the temps inside the room were around 95 degrees F and humid.

Jordan, you don't see the long term in a Dell.
Try and upgrade it yourself. The warrenty isn't long enough for them to do it when that comp is outdated. They want you to buy a new one.
Dell comps (and any other big company's) Are O.E.M
As in, Original Equipment Machine.
Dell makes their own parts, parts that you can't go to the store and buy, which means it's imposible to upgrade it yourself.
So in 5 years or so when you look to fix it up with whatever is out at the time, you'll need a new machine.

In the long run, comps like that are not worth it.

Ummm, OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Dell makes nothing other than the cases. All the other parts are stock. Intel P4 and Motherboard, Nvidia graphix card, Creative Labs sound card. The drives and HD are also off the shelf. I've upgraded many major company comps with no problem. The only company that does what you describe is Apple. They make totally unupgradable computers that are outdated and useless. BTW, my old comp was a homebuilt, and I spent less on my high end (at this time last year) Dell than on my already slow for its time homebuilt.

Oh, also, i've got a 40 gig HD, with less than one gig left empty.

I owe my friend an ass kicking.
Hes normally right. But now he's wrong.
He will die

Quality?
My comp is quality, 5 years in the making. This comp is a work of art, and total, I think I've spent under $1500, and hell yes I know it works.
This machine is never shut off, only restarted, about once a week or so, never freezes, never randomly shuts off, never any weird noises. Nothing. Just a perfect machine.

No Dell can surpass my machine, by speed (Test wise, not by the numbers) or price and no support can change that.

Dude, do u have Mac?

My G3 ain't powerful, but we've never had troubles with it. Mac>PC

lol, Macs make no sense. They have no organization. You cant switch programs without going to a menu. And they cant evin hit one GHZ, while the upcoming new intel chip can hit 5GHZ.
