So apprently Theres a Data Logger in this game, however I have no idea what it is, does, or even how to use it. The game didn't even tell me that it was in it! So um how does it work?

I haven't used it it in GT5 but I used it alot in GT4. So Im guessing at this:

It's basically a tool / device that enables you to ''see'' your lap times in the form of a graph, you can then overlay or bring up another laptime (graph) and compare the two laps.

The faster you go the higher vertically the graph will go, so when you accelerate from a standing start the graph will go up in a diagonal then when you brake it will go down on a diagonal.

Easiest thnig to do is try it at a track like high speed ring, which doesn't have many corners. This will make it easy to understand the device and see how the graph relates to the track . Once you have a basic understanding you can then apply the same theory onto harder tracks (with more corners).

F1 drivers like Ayrton Senna loved it, because he could overlay laps and compare speed, you can see if you are doing a lower, equal or higher speed at any given point on the tack, between two laps, thus enablng you to ''see'' the perfect lap physically possible for yourself.

It's hard to explain...!!

Go into the Practice area and do a lap in whichever car. Once you're done a row of icons will appear at the bottom of the screen, replay, save ghost etc. The one with the wavy line in it is the data logger - click on it and you'll get a surprise.

It can only be used after a practice run but you need to make sure the lap is clean (no wall riding, bumping, or corner cutting).
