Hello all.

My PS3 is messing me around even though its less than 1 year old.
I've decided to take it back and get a fresh new one.

Is it just a case of copying my GT5 ( and other games ) save files to an external device and copy them back onto my new machine?

What complications can I expect to run into ( if any )?
Will I still keep my GT-R Academy Special? Its sort of a DLC car but, it didn't come from the PS store. Is it part of my save data?

To use your save again you have to use your PSN, though you should know that. I don't think you get the DLC's with the new game data, but I think if you go to your account management you can reupload all of your DLC.

Not too sure about the GT-R though, that depends on the GT Academy. Maybe try to retrieve the GT Academy code? Although then you would technically have to race it again, which is impossible now.

Yeah C-ZETA is right but I think the GT-R will still be on the save so it might still be there. I'm not sure 👍

I will be using my original PSN ID.
I know I can get all of my stealth and C-Line cars through PS store, its just that GT-R Academy Special i'm unsure about.

I'll post my results after the deed has been done.

But the GT-R ain't a DLC car it's a rare prize car which can't be traded.
So it probably will still be there.

But don't believe me I will probably still be wrong :lol:
 
the easiest/only way for ALL game saves to work is to copy them onto a usb memory stick and get the new machine and use the same psn account. meaning your psn name. so if on your machine now you are 'xyz123' then recreate that account on the new machine and just put the usb drive into the new machine and copy all your game saves onto it.

once that is set up, go to account management and look at your download list and just re.download all dlc. it will just be a list. just check em and then wait. you dont have to pay for them again. just dont lose your email and pw from the account before you get rid of the old machine.

edit: and some cars are dlc like the chrome line and the stealth cars, but the gt academy cars are in your game save.
