Datalogger = crash?

I just tried the datalogger a couple times after some time trials and each time the game just locks up. Tried letting it sit in case it was an online problem, but it sat there for 30 min. before I got tired of waiting and restarted my ps3.

Anyone had that problem?
 
I've used the data logger a couple of times, no problems there.
 
This happened to me as well the first time I used it. TBH I won't make use of it in future so it's not really a problem, but there does seem to be a growing list of faults with GT5 :(
 
Damn :indiff: did you ever get it working?

I'm gonna try again a couple times to see if it starts working. I really wanted to have some telemetry to see where I can improve.
 
Crashed for me too, pretty much every time I tried it. Thankfully GT5 doesn't take too long to start up so I'm not too bothered by all these crashes, I'm just hopeful they can be fixed.

I haven't had any crashes since disabling the PS3 internet though, can't confirm if it affects the datalogger crash though as I haven't tried it again since.
 
Is this still crashing for everyone?
for me, basically it locks up after it's played one lap through...

Any known workarounds?

still doing it with 1.05 :(
 
I experienced a similar problem - data logger works fine while going through the 1st out of 2 laps at Nurburgring Nordschleife but as soon as it hits the 2nd lap my controls became frozen.

The system ignored whatever inputs (wheel, pedals, PlayStation buttons) but the replay was still going on.

Yeah this is the same as the issue I have... but with tskuba

I need to experiment, as sometimes it doesn't crash... But not worked out when / why yet
 
Given some people said they were not experiencing problems, and occasionally I hadn't , I decided to do some systematic testing :)

And I believe I found the bug....
Changing the camera view!

If you don't change the camera view, it works ...
If you do, it crashes...

This explains it for me, as I always switched to in car view, and then as soon as the lap was over , bang !

Ymmv, but for me, if I dont touch the camera view, it's fine... Rewind, and reference data also work.

Hope this helps someone else, but now I'm happy, I can live with this... and now use this very useful tool :)
 
Thanks for the tip! I've been having hard time figuring out what's wrong with the logger, now I don't have to sweat it out anymore.
 
All the times I've been using it even when comparing two cars, I've had no problems. But I've used it extensively on a few tracks- Top Gear. Tsukuba, Nordschleife, Nurburgring GP F/D and Suzuka.
 
It has yet to crash for me.
