Should be a fun race...I love this car, and not many people know about it, so I figured we should all race it here. Get on it!

VERY close! I thought I'd wind up 3rd or so with that corker.

Hmm, must find save of fully-tuned SLK...which one is it?

Hi Davey,
Well, I am about to attempt for the third time to enter one of your weekly races. The reason that I missed the first two, really couldn't be helped, but the last one, I caught the flu, and it really had a hold on me there for the last four and a half days. But, as I get older, the imune system isn't the greastest either.
I was just wondering, just how long that you men has been racing the weekly races? Because, I kind of wondered how long it took for you to achive the amount of points. I like the points deal, I just wished that someone in my other group that I run challenges at, would had thought of something like giving out points.

Here's my first attempt (I'm off to work in a few minutes...)

1:15.828 @152.9mph

I just thought I'd get the ball rolling.

1:04? Are you sure it's not 1:14?

I found some time after work:
s1 = 13.140
s2 = 19.291
s3 = 20.315
s4 = 19.896
1:12.642 @ 153.75mph

Not bad.......

pupik:
"you're currently looking at my tail lights" is all i can say.

The track is great and so fun! Very challenging! I love it!

Aw crap I haven't even bought the car yet. I am seriously dragging my feet here. And I've never even done Deep Forest Reverse before. I'm doomed.

Saturday's the deadline, right?

But, you'll all be so proud to know, I have been practicing using the analog mode and manual tranny. Still getting used to it but also seeing how much better it is when I do. Full digital directional buttons may very well be why I did so crappy last race. We'll see...

Okay, I have a question here for all drivers that runs Davey's races each week. Do all of you use the analog hand held controllers? If so, my hat goes off to all of you, especially to those of you who can achive the fast times you do with the hand held controllers. This old man uses the MadCatz digital analog steering wheel, and in my opinion, it's just like driving your own personal car, when I'm playing the game.

Hey milefile,
Keep up with the practice on the analog mode and the manual transmission. Once you get use to it better, I'll bet you'll see a difference, no doubt!!

Okay, I finally got this time out of the Benz. :D

Sec. 1=12.224
Sec. 2=19.321
Sec. 3=20.219
Sec. 4=19.946
Lap time: 1:11.710
Speed=154.0

This was a first time for me to run a Mercedes. But, I'll have to say that it won't be the last. It took a great deal of time to take out the wheel-spin, after that it's handling surprised me. :banana:

I'm using the standard digital controller, my analog controller won't work well on a coffee table! My office is so ful of junk since moving, that it's going to be while until I get my MadCatz controller in order.

Okay, I'm getting back into my SLK.

Just pulled out a 1:11.596

Whatcha got, Fuji K...don't keep me guessing!

Any comments about the SLK, so far?

My gripe from day one was always the brakes. They are some of the worst in the game. A fairly nimble package. Now if only it could shed another 200 pounds, it would really be razor-sharp.

But a nice Benz, overall.

I love this car. It's number 3 on my list of underrated cars....coming behind the Atlantique 400GT and Lotus Elise :) .

Annnnnnyway, I have a 1:11.4xx....what can I say, I knew what the race was ahead of time and could practice :D .

This is what you guys are up against! I'm capable of getting 1:10's but that is like working the tires' grip levels!! I'm so close the the edge of traction here.

12.517
19.030
19.929
19.554
1:11.030 @ 155.14mph

Hey GT2 King,
To answer your question, when there is a race that you want to participate in, all you'll need to do is send a message with your
times, like you've seen the rest of us do here. Now, there maybe
another way, and if there is Davey should respond to your question and tell you. I just don't want to burst out and tell you this and let you think that it is the only way to enter, because this weekly race is the first one that I've entered. But, until you know otherwise, this is the way that I entered my first one here.

1:12.426

I did this almost all on one day, Sunday (little late). I didn't have hardly any time to practice this past week. I have never driven the car before, never driven the track before, and did it as a manual/analog newbie. Not to make excuses but I am actually satisfied with my loosing time in the context of my improvement.

Oh and when I said before I was closer to Pupik's time I was refering to this post...

"I've shaved a tenth here, now down to 1:14.451"

...which must have been an error. :p
