(sorry about the no audio issue)
Just looking at this video and make myself realized that this kind of racing is really terrific, I mean in le Mans ,running at 200 mph at night is going to be really challenging,is just all you can see and they rendered in that way, just look the video from 1:40 and you will notice what i am talking about, just racing in a non ilumiated track like the whole straight on le mans is really terifing just look:

see if someone will be up to that challenge on A-spect mode in the night ,that will be a new real challenge for all.

If you think Le Mans looks insane at night (and don't get me wrong it is) then take a look at the Nurburgring at night.

yeah is truly terrifying and it got me thinking that it will be a beautiful sight when all the lights in the pit lane and the building lighs turns on,it will be spectacular, and it got me thinking that we will see some initial d action on some duels and just check out the stuff like we will probably be doing like in 3:34 on the video

Remember Daytona is getting a 24 hour race and its up there as one of the toughest night tracks

Well it use to be really dark about 10 years ago before they installed all the lights everywhere. Also since its by far the shortest of the 24 hour tracks in GT5 you will encounter traffic the most often

I like how they have done the lights... it's definitely gives you that claustrophobic night feeling...

I do wonder though, don't they usually kit out rally cars with ass loads of super bright lights just because of this?

it also got me thinking about the public,in nurburgring a lot of Germans on the open spaces making BBQ's,in le mans a lot of people with their children watching the race, and in Daytona a lot of fat people in caravans.

Honestly, the lights don't come off too well for me. They do not illuminate the way real lights do. The come off as pointed down. Real lights cover a much broader area then what was shown in the GT5 video.

but you just know gt5 isnt going to be pitch black like that right? guess we could turn the brightness down

edit: actually it gets quite dark right at the end of the op's vid

and also got me thinking about the environments, when you racing and only one person endlessly wins all the public will just leave the scenario,or if you were a dirt racer they will throw tomatoes at you :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

First 2D trees, skidmarks, reverse lights, tire smoke...

Now? cockpit modes and light illumination.

:ouch:

Oh my god, how can people even start to complain about this wonderful day-night transition.. and a reality pitch black circuit.. Some people can complain about everything

It's gonna be mega cool, and the best news we've had. The only thing that worries me is does it apply to all tracks? If so = happyface. If not, sadface.

complete agree with you,you think that flopza 4 will create day/night changes,is not possible on the xbox 360,because it is single tasking, they wont match that i hope that by GT6 they put the BBQ smell on the nurburgring:sly:

Indeed sir. It's rather embarassing really. This community could easily be defined as a bunch of over analytical individuals.

And in the end, it serves no purpose.:indiff:

I posted this in another thread but it applies to what you are saying

2 things that make up what I will now coin, "Kazunori's Curse"

1. He is a perfectionist, so his games naturally attract meticulous customers.
2. He is attempting to digitally re-create something that already exists in reality,
a) with a stated intent to realistically re-create
b) and for an existing enthusiast crowd (car lovers).

But in regard to night racing. I am soooooooo excited about this. Not only that but we have cycles. By the way, since it is nearly impossible to keep up with the forum these days. Does anyone have any youtube videos that have night racing and day/night cycles on anything other than Toscana?

It seems the massive over analytical nature of this forum doesn't get questioned when they are analyzing every last detail and screenshot to show how much better GT is than Forza... so it is the fact that we are over analytical individuals that you don't like or just what we happen to be analyzing right now that you don't like?

What IS that?!?!? I thought it was actual footage at first. Holy CRAP that looks amazing!

The dynamic crowds is a really awesome feature for sure. ANything dynamic is always a plus IMO. It will be interresting to see more tents and people show up on Nurburgring the more laps you do. I wonder if we will see campfires at nighttime. :)

night racing will be awesome and challenging.
-Just think about how the replays will look!

Hopefully theyt wont limit them to 60 minutes! and there will be some sort of Highlights reel feature for really long races (enduros), slap some commentary on them presto instant GT style MotorsTV.

From the early indications, the brightness of the lights and their ability to light the road ahead of you in the game, fall far short of the Hella racing lights that I am used to.

GTR2 did a good job of transitoning light effects as well as the orignal PS2 game, 24 Hours of Le Mans :)

None the less, I greatly enjoy the longer Endurance races :)
