OK, so you haven't seen a NASCAR-only game since 2008. Well, here it is: Days of Thunder NASCAR Edition!

Here is an excerpt from the official game website:
Celebrating the iconic film "Days of Thunder," Paramount Digital Entertainment and NASCAR invite gamers to enter the high-stakes world of stock car racing in the adrenaline-packed Days of Thunder: NASCAR Edition, featuring some of the top racers in NASCAR. In Days of Thunder: NASCAR Edition players will learn their way around the track with the guidance of their coach and pit chief, Rowdy Burns, voiced by the actor from the film, Michael Rooker. On the circuit, players will race against both NASCAR drivers and the other characters from the film, including Cole Trickle and Russ Wheeler. With both single and multiplayer challenges, players race to reach victory lane and prove that "there is nothing you can’t do in a race car!"

Is this a wind-up? Havent heard anything about this.
If it is genuine, I hope they have a decent developer on board.
I remember something in the extras menu for either TOCA Racedriver 2 or 3 on PS2 that there was a video for a Codemasters-developed NASCAR game? It's title was simply named after a NASCAR track, beginning with R....or something.
What happened to it?
In fact, Codemasters produced an Indycar game which was developed by Brain-in-a-Jar, which wasn't half bad.
That's what's missing from the PS3/360 driving library. A decent NASCAR or Indycar game.

Anyway, why are they specifying "NASCAR edition"? Was there a "Days of Thunder" film about any other racing series?

Because they just wanted to show what it is like for film characters to go against today's NASCAR stars. So, it is like this:

Yeah, honestly, people who have been clamoring for a new NASCAR game, even if it was from EA or the like, think this one is pretty bad and wouldn't buy it.
It honestly looks worse than if a bunch of mediocore modelers and painters in the NR2003/N09 communities got together and made a game, atleast they'd have the right colors and wouldn't have 3 styles of Impala lights :dunce:

From,
Chris.

I think I'll stick with driving the Impala on iracing, thanks.
