Daytona Super Speedway, Z06, N tires

I know a lot of you "purists" out there think that Racing tires are the worst thing that ever hit a "simulator". And you think that oval racing is lame and without challenge. PD gave you guys the perfect race. Well, it's a time trial actually.

Daytona Super Speedway with the Corvette Z06 on N tires (that belong on an '88 Hyundai Excel).

Have at it, enjoy spinning out.

I can hardly imagine the pace car drivers for the Daytona 500 in a Z06 would say that the car is undrivable.

I'm new to GT and these sorts of games. What are these tires? R, S, N. I know that R stick more but wouldn't you always pick the tires that have the best grip?

Why do you need a choice of tires?

If you're out to just go as fast as you can, R (Race) tires are the way to go, hands down. However, with the variety of cars in the game, a lot of people choose to simulate cars (maybe even their own..) in their stock trim (S (Sport Tires)). Then there are the old classic cars that use N (Normal.. I think) tires, or the people that produce fancy drift shows with those tires.

R tires are great for the right car, but sometimes just sticking to the road gets boring, especially when you're making errors that, if you were driving on a lesser tire, would send you into a spin. Some like a challenge, some have to prepare for it, etc. There are many tires for many purposes. It all depends on how you choose to play the game and what you want to get out of it.
