please tell me people on here listen to this band. since they've reformed, I wonder how the music world will take it. their popularity seems to have grown a LOT since they officially broke up in '06, and if they get around to releasing a new album...they might just blow the hell up...I hope a lot more people hear about them, though. anyone else a DFA fan? and has anyone else written music for a DFA style band?
 
'Twas a joyous day when I heard they reformed, hopefully I can nab some tickets to see them in London (should be easier than getting tickets for Muse!).

I think Death From Above 1979 is a pretty cool guy. eh incites a riot on his first gig back after 6 years and doesnt afraid of anything...

THAT just happened!!!!! DFA79 is officially the greatest band in the world now. their first show back after breaking up six years ago, and they incite a riot. cops on horseback. fans getting assaulted. pepper spray. tazers. fences torn down. show almost getting shut down halfway through.

DFA79 has reached legendary status.

well, the didn't start a riot. their music did. the fans that couldn't get in, wanted in. so they kinda went crazy and cops had to be called in. DFA79 didn't want it to happen, but it sorta did. and how is this not legendary? DFA79's first show after they broke up, and it caused a riot. if that's not rock and roll, then rock and roll just doesn't exist.
 
Yeah did you not hear? Whichever band causes the most violence upon a comeback whilst playing at SXSW is officially the greatest band in the world.

I'm not the one making borderline insults at people.

I just brought the thread you had already made on this subject to your attention, you are the one choosing to call people nazi's while saying their opinions basically don't mean anything and are wrong.

and textspeak? oh, are you talking about my abbreviation of "by the way"? yea, I say "btw" in real life, so it's not text speak to me. so I don't capitalize every letter..ok? I still use proper grammar, and it's very easy to tell what I'm trying to convey. also, I wasn't using insults through this entire thing. you're just starting to be antagonistic now. go troll somewhere else. shoo! shoo!

It's in the AUP, it's not an option.

Also, since when was 'nazi' not an insult?

Sorry, but I do take offense to it, you are the one antagonizing, not me. I have yet to call anyone anything (other than a troll) and I have yet to throw crap around about people's musical taste. All I did was point out something to you, you than called me a nazi.

Refer to someone as a Nazi again and unless you can prove they are a member of a extreme right-wing group or served on the losing side in WWII and you will find an infraction in your in-box.

If you can argue your point without insulting people then its time you found the door.

Oh - and I'm going to tell you (as other have tried to help you on this subject) that having just had a quick review of your posting history - No your grammar is not good enough. Capital letters for the start of sentences, for nouns and single 'I's is a requirement of the AUP. Miss a few every now and then and no one will have a problem, do it in just about every post you make and we do have a problem.

Sort both your posting style and attitude out.

I swear, I try and bring some awesome news to the people at GTPlanet and one guy has to troll it up and leave a bad taste in someone's mouth. Way to go, man.

An insult is an insult and you managed to pick about the worst one you could to try and justify.

A quick heads up, the staff love the term Nazi being used as an insult, after all none of us have ever been called it.

I will be blunt, I've reviewed you posting history and I'm far from impressed, having found numerous AUP violations in it.

No Justin should not have reacted in the way he did, however that does not change the fact that you instigated the attack and not for the first time.

I don't give a damn what the news is, discuss it while keeping to the AUP or lose the ability to share any news at all.

This is not a topic for discussion, its an instruction. Follow it or I will issue and infraction and lock this thread.

I still hope one day I can see these guys, one of my all time fave bands, and I missed all their shows first time around. I had now chance of getting any for the London HMV ones aswell. :(
