Death Race 2 may have been a direct-to-dvd offering, but by no means was it a lesser quality film than it's predecessor, sequels always demand to be bigger and better than the previous film, but to top things off, Death Race 2 is a prequel, so the challenge was to be equal or greater action-wise without rending the other film (the story of which takes place later) of lighter weight, In my opinion, they succeeded, I've never seen two films work together so well.
Now, Death Race 3/Inferno is on the way, and it's story is to sit between both existing films, I wonder if they can pull off another masterstroke? From what I've read so far, it might be possible, somehow they're going to work in the use of a new location and new vehicles (which I think is crucial), while retaining the important characters from DR 2.
Anyone else looking forward to this? I think it's going straight to DVD aswell, but I haven't read that anywhere.
