I would love to see the return of backfire and sparks, but again its just as relevant as including the reverse tail lights or skid marks on the track.

Reverse lights and skidmarks aside, although i would like to see skidmarks though, i was under the impression we could safely assume sparks and backfire will be in the final game ( although absent in Prologue, but so were many things ) as they were present in GT4 if i recall correctly.

Would be great in TT2, would see at least 5 riders highside.Imagine the rain/oil soaked Monza track or the full size Brands Hatch Superbike circuit.

I can't recall if sparks were in GT4, but backfires were. They looked terrible, like that for a brief moment someone had stuck a balled pair of socks into the car's tailpipe, but they were there.

They are in the game, take any superGT car to the ring and watch the replay, the low height will make the car hit the tarmac often and you'll see sparks.

Regarding the backfire, it was badly represented indeed.. 👎

or, you could just take the Volvo Estate out and hit the brakes. (trust me, it works)

Race cars just aren't the same without some heavy backfiring when slowing down. As a car enthusiast you just have to love that sound.

Sparks indicate that your car is bottoming out so you need to adjust your suspension. Skidmarks were discussed to death, but i still think they HAVE to be in.

All of those things massively add to immersion and realism and should not be left out in the "ultimate driving simulator" as PD calls GT5 themselves.

In any case, they are more important to me than animated flowers or lifelike driver faces.

This is a very good post, I'd much rather have skidmarks on the track and proper backfires etc. than life like driver animation. Who the hell really cares how realistic their driver is when you've got so many awesome cars to be drooling over? Drivers with as much detail as in Forza 3 would do me, I don't need some super realistic racing driver wasting vital processing power!

I don't know. If the drivers are like the ones in Toca Race Driver 3, then it can be a problem. When you're racing go-karts in TRD 3, it's like playing Mario Kart.
