With the mention of DLC cars being available for purchase from their respective dealers, does anybody know if that’s going to apply to the people who bought the collector’s/signature editions? Personally I bought the signature edition so I have the 11 bonus cars that were included but I’ve haven’t touched them for fear of wear and tear.

If one of my fears were for "wear and tear" I would get rid of GT5.
I don't think I would put that many miles on them for it to matter. If cars wear to they would not be competitive then PD should re think how they handle that aspect of the game.

I don't get why people don't drive their cars. It's the point of the damn game. If they get wear and tear, SO WHAT. It's a game.

I don't understand it, but to each his own. I doubt it's for the Stealth cars. For updates like these, it always applies to things from the time the update is downloaded, nothing before. The update is for the DLC that is bought from now on. Stealth cars aren't exactly the DLC Kaz has in mind.

Please use your Stealth cars, they're too good not to use.

Dude LOL

you can delete the chromelines and re-download them

ive done this like 3 times already..

as for the dlc cars wearing out, yeagh it sucks, but it takes like 30,000 miles before that happens (permanently lost horsepower). trust me by then, you wont care anymore

My FGT did on B-Spec 1 24h race, the 9h race, the Indy 500, the Laguna Seca 200, and it's on 7000.

Would you really drive that much with it?

Having the bonus cars in the dealership would be more convenient though as seanneedscar stated, they can be re-downloaded for free (I have not tried this, I'm not fussed over the 0/0/0 'ness)

On another note, I'd love an option to adjust how many opponents/what cars other drivers use for practice and arcade mode, picked from your garage/arcade cars of course. I would love to run some offline super gt with the 300 cars included.

That's a very good idea, ToxiAU. I was hoping GT5 had this when it released. I would love to have a sea of Kubelwagens and Samba Buses on Autumn Ring while I'm lapping them in a Veyron, a car I still haven't driven, yet.

A weird evolution of German engineering.

That's nothing. I've got the majority of all my driven miles on that car. I did over 16 9 hour events alone and almost all my B-Seoc endurances with it along with some A-Spec.

Aren't we limited to downloading DLC a maximum of 5 times?

I have to agree. GT5, Forza, iRacing, etc. is all about driving - not sitting around and collecting a bunch of cars you'll never even touch.

OT: I'd only hope the stealths and chromelines are in the dealership for the fact that us US chaps never had a chance at the Sig. Ed. As for the fear of wear-and-tear: one of my X2010's has 22,500 miles on it from grinding. So far, it's only lost about 200hp, probably because I haven't changed the oil in awhile. But Stealths and chromelines get a 500cr. engine rebuild vs. the traditional 500,000 cr. If you're still paranoid about it, just drive them online in free run lobbies- no miles will gather on your car while doing so.

Yes, driving is the focus. However, mileage is annoying. I don't see why it was ever added, let alone thought of. What makes it even worse is that it can cause permanent irreversible loss in performance. When some cars can only be obtained once, that seems rather stupid.

I'm glad we get wear and tear. I have the chromelines and stealths and drive the 🤬 out of them. So what if I lose a few horsepower, you never really get to use them at full power online anyway. Even in A-spec it's overboard on most races.

You know because when you drive a real car, mileage and wear don't occur at all!

/sarcasm

I myself like the mileage, if GT5 claims to be the real driving simulator, then mileage and wear should be in the game.. it adds to the "realism" if you will.

Look, a strawman argument that completely ignores the crux of his point (and doesn't even have the decency of being accurate in its appeal to realism to boot)!

His point was mileage and damage is annoying, I don't see how I ignored his point just because I disagree with it.

Saying "because realism" is not a valid counterpoint, particularly when the current implementation isn't realistic in the first place.

How so? I know it's not counted in free run lobbies online(which It should be) is that your point?

Why so much whining?
The variation between engine break-in and irreparable damage is +/- 5% it won't make any significant impact.

In real life, there is no such thing as irreversible engine wear. In GT5, there is.

This is ignoring that people may want to have more than one version of Stealth/Chromelines for completely different reasons than those in the OP.

Ah ok! :)

I agree with this, it also makes every car in GT5 unique because of the mileage and wear/tear. Some people cars will run better than others even if it's the same car depending on the maintenance. Also think about the guy in a year or 2 who has a unique car with low mileage on it. It's going to be considered a special car. People who collect cars should look forward to this, it's the best of both worlds.
